Upgrading from 6.1.4 to 7.0.4 Problems

Hey all, I have been trying to update from my jailbroken iOS 6.1.4 to 7.0.4 and use the jailbreak,
I have tried to use iTunes to back it up (which did not work), and then restore through DFU mode and on.
Neither have worked. I have tried to use TinyUmbrella which got rid of the 3194 Error I was receiving, but I received error 11. Which then I uninstalled the latest iTunes and have installed 11.1.11 and now I get error 3004.
I have checked the hosts file, and there is no apple address in there. What could I do to upgrade from 6.1.4 to 7.0.4?
thanks

You can't upgrade to iOS 7.0.4 as Apple has stopped signing the firmware files. You will be able to upgrade to the latest version of iOS, which is iOS 7.1.1 currently.
You can check this post for more details:

I don't know what kind of device you have, but for upgrading you can follow "Gautam" suggestion...
And if your device is an iPhone 4 you can Jailbreak it following this POST , but if your device is something else no Jailbreak existing for the moment , sorry !!!
