Yup, this would fall under ability to change SMS tones, we could have put it
under customizing the iPhone but thought we will keep UI customizations
separate. -

Its not going to happen, it will be dictated by agreements Apple has with
Carriers. We will skip this one. -
Yes! Who sends it to Apple. If they are upgrading to a major version change, there has to be a minimum of 15 changes in this list in that firmware... otherwise it could be renamed to 2.3 instead of 3.0!

We have also not reordered the features based on the votes after publishing the original list as some readers have referred to the numbers while commenting on their wish list.
We have just appended the new features suggested to the bottom of the list to avoid confusion.

i think being able to download files off the internet would be great, and if downloading songs or videos it goes straight into the iPod, depending on the format, but most songs would be mp3.

Ability to download files such as docs, pdf etc would definitely be good
feature to have, however I don't think Apple will add support to download
songs.We have added the feature as: Ability to download files from the internet

I want to see the Company Name listed with the Name under the contacts app. And search by company.

I'm an iphone user (issued and paid for by my employer) and I have used Winmo and BBerry devices for years. I find it facinating that the wishlist for the most popular device in the mobile phone/handheld world contains items/functionality that most phones have had for years. Apple has a way of hyping up something that is sub par and making it a big deal. And these periodic updates are nothing more than publicity stunts aimed at boosting sales. Why give someone the whole cake when you can sell them one slice at a time at a premium price?

I'm thinking about getting an iPhone and this caught my eye.
Are you saying that as the iPhone is now, if my phone is on manner/silent ring mode, I can't have an audible alarm? This would really tick me off. -
There is an audible alarm with snooze (even when the iPhone is in silent mode) and you can also customise the tone. I think what Dave is looking for is a way to change the volume.

i am really sure i already posted this, but i look edthru the comments and i didnt find it...so i guess iphone hacks delted it so am saying it again, WE WANT IPHONE 3.0 TO BE SOFT UNLCOKED TO BE USED WITH ANY CARRIER WORLDWIDE!
