4. full Bluetooth functionality
5. the ability to walk through walls

How about the ability to skip between tracks whilst ipod is playing by holding down the volume up/down button. Sony-ericsson phones (and probably many others) have been doing this for donkey's years and it's a great feature.

Yeah the ability to customize the iPhone like you can with Winterboard would be a good one.

Yeah, I have noticed that as well when I am reading something on the iPhone when I am in bed. Its quite irritating, so an easy way to lock the accelerometer would be useful in some scenarios.

Flash support would be cool, but not sure if the solution to it will only be software.
There is quite a bit speculation which suggests that for Flash to work, you would need better hardware so a likely candidate in the next generation iPhone.

Yeah an easier way to switch between iPhone apps would be extremely useful.
I really liked the way Beejive implemented the functionality to switch between chat windows in BeejiveIM. It will be interesting to see how Apple implement it.

I am not sure if I got it right, but you can already create custom ringtones using iTunes for an additional fee from a song you already own.

he means the SMS tones. You can change ringtones, but not the "new SMS" tone to a custom tone. I aggree with him too.

maybe they'll announce new features of a new iphone... that would make sense toward the whole future functionality thing. and obviously 3.0 will come out the same time as the third gen iphone. like 2.0 and the 3g.

reminders - iPhone is missing simple reminders. 1) Calender - abilty to snooze meeting reminders and set recurring reminders until you acknowlege it (like the palm). 2) same feature for SMS alerts, missed calls and voicemails.

WOOT, Just in Time for my Birthday!!!! I'm born on St. Patrick's Day, I'm Irish, have red hair, and my favorite color is green... which makes me sad that Apple doesn't offer a green version of the iphone. They should give me a custom one, with a four-leaf clover on it. 3G though, so I can finally sell my 2G.
Can't wait to see the new features though. Hopefully they'll include background tasks. Actually, I take that back. If I'm going to hope for anything I'm going to hope for an official version of winterboard. Apple approved theming. Dammit I'm gonna dream big.
Maybe even landscape email and sms, and maybe safari will remember my damn email for passwords!

Apple is hosting the event on 17th is just to give a preview of iPhone firmware 3.0.
I guess it will be released in July like they had done last year with firmware 2.0.

You can delete individual messages, by swiping on a message left to right or right to lef (message list screen)
