Finally, some good news. I'm currently using 3.0 but do miss my jailbreak apps. I would go back but boy do all these backup, factory restores, and syncs take a while. I did however manage to keep my custom carrier name after upgrading. Not sure how or why exactly but it sure was a nice little gift.

Im on firmware 2.1(5F136) and modem firmware is 02.11.07.My Question is can i do the upgrade to 3.0 from my firmware..

Yes, you should be able to upgrade to 3.0 from 2.1. you shouldn't run into any problem as well.

same here but if you reset all of your settings from the phone then it will say ATT agin. if you do choose to do that the rest assure it wont delete any other information. your contact calender music and movies will all be saved.
I cant wait for this jailbreak though b/c man do i miss Qik!!!

That's a good question.
Based on one of MuscleNerd's comment, they expect Apple to release a firmware update to patch the exploit they are using to unlock iPhone OS 3.0.
As mentioned by the Dev Team, there should be no problem jailbreaking iPhone OS 3.0 even on new devices.
We will keep you posted.

Yeah, since one of the steps is to restore your iPhone it will unjailbreak your iPhone and also clean up the jailbreak apps that you might have installed.
You will need to first use the tools to jailbreak it and then reinstall the jailbreak apps.

I accidently updated my 3G firmware to 02.30.03 / 2.2.1 (5H11). I have a TMobile SIM that has been working perfectly for until yesterday.
I'm guessing that I have to wait until later today to unlock again right? Can some please confirm whether there is anything else out there.

ok so if one updates a jailbroken iphone to 3.0, it will restore the phone and delete the jailbreak? i can live with that if i am able to jailbreak the 3.0 again once the firmware update is ready. am i close to having a clue?
