if you update to official 3.1.3, your baseband would be updated, but you may try redsn0w instead, to jailbreak without unlock. Otherwise, use sn0wbreeze to make a custom FW, to retain your current baseband. PS. try to use an earlier version of iTunes, maybe 8.x

are there any requirements i should know before i jailbreak it, just to be on the safer side?

i have a jailbroken iphone 3gs on 3.0.1. baseband is still 04.28.08. how do i upgrade it to only 3.1.2 preserving the jailbreak and baseband?

As with all jailbreaks, they take time, i have NO doubts that the Dev team will figure out a way to jailbreak the iPhone 4G when it arrives, even if it does take time. Pretty sure it would take less time if people didn't pester them! We're not and never will lose the battle with Apple, thanks to the genius of the Dev!

i have iphone 3g 3.1.2 its unlocked and jailbroke i used blackrain i been looking for days if i upgrade to 3.1.3 can i unlock it i have tomobile so it has to be unlocked for me to use it if it can be unlocked will someone please tell me how to unlock it

if your unlock depends on blacksn0w, stay on 3.1.2, but if you're using ultrasn0w, then you can either use sn0wbreeze or PwnageTool.

I tested out sn0wbreeze 1.4 today on my jail-broken & unlocked 2g. The result was less than satisfactory. Once I was done, my experience was my edge/data connectivity was gone. The T-mobile logo and any connectivity signal were all gone. I waited for a couple hours, but nothing changed. So, I had to downgrade my OS back from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2, and my phone now works fine.
One cool thing it has that I admire is doing the jailbreak process, Sn0wbreeze can build a custom ipwn firmware and place it on my desktop. This is cool. -

got an iphone 3gs (old bootrom), 3.0.1, bb 04.26.08 & it's jailbroken last year using redsn0w 0.8, NOT unlocked. wanna upgrade to 3.1.3 using this sn0wbreeze but wanna preserve the baseband so i can unlock later on w/ ultrasn0w. does this sn0wbreeze upgrade the baseband?

hi there, i jailbroke AND unlocked my iphone 3G to version 3.0 a while back. now i want to upgrade to 3.1.3 will it still be unlocked or will i have to do that again too?

i upgraded my iphone 3gs to 3.1.3 and jailbroke it with snoowbreeze.
now i can´t get any pop up notifications and youtube doesn´t work. how can i fix that? -
i did the sn0wbreeze upgrade frm 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 and it was smooth and very fast but at the end of the day my fon is not unlocked but jailbroken.i tried the blackrain too and it freezes after it says wait for rebooting.can someone help me pls get the blackrain alternatively or show me how can i downgrade back and get my 3.1.2

My tethering suddenly disappeared and force me to reboot my iPhone then I got freeze at the apple logo. I had no choice but forced to restore with 3.1.3 ...i'm so screwed! F****king Apple. If I can't get it jailbreak i'm going to cancel my AT&T and using Android instead :(
I got it reversed back to 3.1.2 but the baseband stuck at 5.12.01

This method worked fine for me. Remember you have to have a phone that had the 3.1.2 or lower that was already jailbroken and with the old bootrom for this work. I had a 3GS, 3.1.2, old bootrom, with baseband 5.11.07. I jailbroke 3.1.2 before doing this method to restore to a jailbroken 3.1.3. THIS WILL NOT WORK IF YOU ALREADY UPDATED TO 3.1.3.
