why wait for apple to release 4.0.1? I heard apple is waiting for these guys to release their jailbreak so that they can patch that hole...so what is all this?
this is really simple...release the jailbreak software and we have a choice...upgrade and be faced with a locked phone or don't upgrade and have an unlocked 4.0. I just don't see why 3Gs new bootrom guys have to wait when the 4.0.1 is basically useless to us.

It all depends on your bootrom. If your on 359.3 then you can upgrade to a Pwned iOS4 and jailbreak with ultrasnow, If your on the new bootrom wait for the next comex release after 4.1/4.0.1 comes out

So I cant jailbreak my iphone 3gs with 4.0 old boot rom but its never been jailbroken and i dont have the blobs or SHSH for it?

Today, my iphone 3g on ios4 has been jail broken and unlocked using blackra1n and ultrasn0w 0.93 I don't know what you guys are talking about waiting for what?

I'm gonna return my iphone 4 when it comes in the mail next week. I believe the reception problem is hardware so I want to buy it when they fix the problem and also when the jailbreak hits the streets ^^

My iphone 3G was jailbreaked
with redsnow and unlocked with ultraslow but alot of the apps from cydia are not working. Do u have that problem? Or do u know how to fix it? Please let me know thank you -

Not a good idea because given a choice, people will want the unlock before and after 4.0.1. No one will wait and when locked out afterwords will cry/scream "i didn't know this would happen and, oh by the way, when is the new unlock coming out!?"

the only country that won't work even if it is unlocked is South Korea as if you successfully unlock your iphone 3g/3gs/4, it will not work to "Show" because as all iphones that is bought out of Korea and want to use in in Korea must be checked by opening up the iphone and have the frequency checked. So all you people who plan on traveling to Korea or plan on using their iphone 4 in Korea, you are out of luck and they only way to do this is to pay about 100 bucks for them to check and have it to work.

great job in deed why not challenge the apple by releasing the JB then let them patch and again JB new firmware again thy will patch then again JB let see how far Steve Doog can go.... he should realize his mobile are sold all over the world just because these nice guys worked hard he should give at least 10% of apple share.

Nope, what did you use to install the cydia apps with? apt backup or reinstall yourself? I would just install Rock app and install the files again. It will also backup your file list so you don't have to reinstall them when you upgrade next time. Install rock after a install and just input all the sources and press restore.

No one is going to be able to get a contract in korea because they are not korean citizens. If they had a prepaid sim card type of a deal, I would have used it when I went to visit last year for about 4 months. Ended up paying about $600 bucks for old @ss phone from the base with just couple hundred minutes to use.

upgrade to ios 4 not 4.01 and run redsn0w to install cydia and multi task. install ultrasn0w from cydia to unlock.

I believe that's when you can find a custom ios 4 file then all you have to do is put it on DFU mode and click restore with the new file. But you can't do that till Dev team releases the jailbreak and I'm sure it's going to be a mac version so have someone who uses mac to make that custom file and send it to you.

100% YES, you can't install ultrasn0w or other tools with out having it jailbroken with cydia or rock installed
