so my 3gs is running 3.1.3, and has been jailbroken via spirit. How can I safely get it to os4/latest and still have it jailbroken? possible or not?

Me too I have the same problem. I bought an iPhone 3GS with a 4.0 firmware and a modem firmware of 05.13.04.. And I have yet to find someone that can jailbreak AND unlock it :(

i agree i updated by accident but the only reason i used jb was for lockinfo and a couple of the tweeks ie vibrating keypad touch + bitesmsm
speaking of witch does any one know if bite sms works on ios 4 yet? -

The Jailbreak For 3GS Running apples new os 4.0/1 will not be released by me further details will be posted on my website
however good news for iphone 4 users 4.0/1 Jailbreak will be released tomorrow and dev team to release new ultrasn0w to unlock
i have not got the time to work on both the iphone 4 and 3gs so im just working on the iphone 4 from now on

If you have a 3GS running 4.0 just downgrade to 3.1.2 firmware and jailbreak with blackrain.. Download a 3GS firmware, add host file in system32/Drivers/etc to confirm firmware instead of apple... Then when phone stops restore halfway and error pops up in iTunes just Open tinyumbrella and click fix recovery mode and your done... Or just search google how to downgrade and you will get advice

hello man , you have updated your iphone 3gs to 4.0 so you have to wait for the jailbreak as everyone , i'm waiting since the apple released the ios4 , soon they will fix it stay tuned here and everything will be fixed :)

Well, sorry for the false information on my comment above. the dev team will be releasing a iphone 3gs/4 firmware 4/4.0.1 jailbreak and unlock on August 31.

i have an iphone 3gs i always try to look for jailbreaks so i can jailbreak it. when 4.0.1 came out i started looking for it but all icould find was 3gs unlocks i was looking at this site but where is it so i can jailbreak it

Yes you are correct half way. There is a unlock for the 3gs but you need to jailbreak it before you unlock, so....no. there is no jailbreak for 3gs 4.0, so you cannot unlock it till there is. We will be releasing a jailbreak within the next month. We/I are/am running late because i am on vacation right now with my Iphone 4 and n computer. so please expect a jailbreak in the middle of August.
