Apple To Fix Security Hole In iOS 4 Used In JailbreakMe In Upcoming Software Update
If you want to jailbreak your iPhone then you should do it soon as Apple already figured out a way to fix the security hole that has been used in JailbreakMe, the web-based method to jailbreak iPhone and iPod Touch on iOS 4, iOS 4.0.1 and iPad on iPhone OS...

Simple don't go to those websites, AND don't update!
-
There are always going to be this stupid people who don't listen to these warnings, then their going to cry for a new jailbreak like before lol, when will they ever learn :P
-
How many of you are seeing a row of coloured dead pixels each time you reboot please??
This is concerning me as I can't get rid if them, if it's widespread are we all voiding out warranties iPhone hacks please?
Can you check this out as it's pretty serious?
Thanks -
I'm actually glad they are fixing this exploit. It is a legitimate security risk.
-
What I mean is, if the pixels can't be fixed and we're on the thirty day trial period, apple won't be refunding us jailbreakers as they will see the evidence if dead pixels! Even after a clean restore apparently :(

I have seen this problem and i'm concern about its effects..so if anyone knows how we can solve this problem please help us
-
ummm...duh. especially with people doing dumb **** going to stores to jailbreak phone for no reason...
-
I also see the dead pixels, but I'm not sure if it is a serious problem, clean restore to factory state should remove them though.
-
Don't upgrade iOS should keep the ability to JB + unlock anytime, but it will be a problem when you have to reset to factory state, which updates the phone to latest iOS automatically, you'll have to somehow downgrade the iOS to get JB + unlock.
-
Should remove but I'm hearing it isn't removing them, need to know really from a trusted source what's happening
-
Mine did go away with a clean restore, u need a good source? Do it your self and then jailbreak again. It's not that hard anyways.
-
I seen them too on my iphone 4 on ios 4, then i updated to 4.01 & they were gone. Rejailbreaking brought them back thou.
-
they aren't dead pixels, its just the boot image being corrupted.
-
I have the same issue on both my iphones 3GS and 4. I have done a complete restore and the colored pixel line in the upper right corner is GONE. So no worries. Restore will put you back in sync with Apple.
-
Well just RESTORE the phone then yourself. You can always jailbreak it again.
-
You clearly don't know what dead pixels are. If they were dead, then their color/state would be fixed regardless of what program you're in. And software cannot kill pixels. Jailbreaking simply changed the image that is displayed when booting.
If you need to take your phone for repair, simply restore it to factory state. They'll never know that you had it jailbroken.

This is the answer to about 95% of all jailbreaking questions.
-
unfortunately 4.1 is going to have several needed fixes (buggy proximity sensor for example) so I hope the Dev Team has a 4.1 crack ready to launch
-
agreed, they kind of have to, like even if they want jailbreaking its a serious problem

Hey fellas!
Regarding the "dead pixels" on reboot, if I jailbreak my iPhone 3Gs with Os4.01 and unlock it, let's say I want to restore to earlier backup i did before Jailbreaking my phone, those Apps that I downloaded thru Cidya or **** will stilol be in my phone or I will loose them?
Also If I restore back and go back to Jailbreakme2.0, will the dead pixel go away? Thanx for any help!!! -
you know on my 3g and 3gs i could get an app on cydia to change the boot image without restoring, is the i4's boot image in some boot file just not possible to be perfect with the file modified enough to allow booting a jailbroken phone? like is it that the modifications make it impossible to have a perfect boot image? if not, can't we just install a program from cydia that rewrites the file using full root priviledges? seems like it would be more free than from an exploit, but maybe not
-
Great, thanks for that
-
I think JB apps are NOT backed up, but you use something like PkgBackup (cydia app, not free) to backup the list of JB apps on your phone, so that you can easily re-download them after JB your phone.
It looks like the random pixels are related to the jailbreakme 2.0, so they will be there after you JB your phone, unless Comdex fixes it.
-
its suppose to be like that now keep your shirt on and stop worrying it wont do nothing
-
it suppose to be like that
-
comex said it suppose to have the dead pixel when you reboot or shutdown it just all the jailbrake stuff in on there long as it dont show up on your homescreen your find now stop being a baby and chill.
-
Here ya Tony!
Sounds good, anyways i didn't use the jailbreakme2.0, I used the first link that was released. So i believe I simply better live my phone as is and not worry about the "deadpixel" for now. Much appreciate for your answer!
Cheers :)

yes, at reboot only, 3G, appeared after using JailbreakMe
Does not bother me nearly as much as not having infinidock.
-
there are suppose to be like the pixels if you were listening to comex lately
