I know the security hole fix is important in some way but why can't apple just accept that Jailbreaking the iphone is legal now.

Apple needs to fix the iPod volume when using your headphones or iPod dock. Sound quality sucks and is too low on my iPhone 4 compared to my old ass iPod... Bluetooth blows compared to 3GS. Fu*k this phone. They finally get the battery right but the rest of it is trash

I agree, they should just allow jailbreaks to happen and just "warn" people of it like they always do. It's legal now to jailbreak. It would be "anti-competitive" blocking you're competitors out. They need just to make a way for the jailbreak to happen anytime without leaving any security hole in the system.
It would be up to the owner if he/she would want to jailbreak they're iDevice.
