And to the selfish people who just whine and complain comon' let your balls drop and grow the **** up please? If apple patches upcoming firmwares 4.x or releases some new boot like they did with the newer 3GS's all you can do is just wait or just move on to Android.
You visit this iphonehacks and other websites to get news on the newest releases because you love your iphone right? Don't complain if you can't install cydia right away or do what you want on the phone. You walked out of the apple store with the phone knowing it will be boring from the get go unless it was jailbroken. If you want more freedom, why not go Android?
I'm already starting to see it on local craigslist ads. People and even small-time celluar stores are making 25-80bucks on the new iphone4 unlock&jailbreak when this was given to you for free. If the Dev Team were greedy and selfish like you, they could've opened up shop and had you send your phone for their services but thankfully they are so nice to bring this to everyone in the world. Much respect there.
It reminds me of the pissy people nagging the Game emulation scene with the first few n64 pc apps. Respect their work!!!

That's funny it worked for my IP4 and my girlfriends 3GS. Do you have the newer 3GS with the newer bootrom? She has the older 3GS 32GB but I don't think that should matter unless something freak happened like you lost connection with your download or the phone didn't reboot. Try it again.

I see a lot of posts about unlocking the 3gs with this update. For the record, the older Ultrasnow would do a new bootrom 3gs just fine. I did mine with no problem the day the jailbreak came out. This update just adds the capability for the iPhone4.
So, I'm curious. Are all the people who are unlocking their iPhone 4's buying them unsubsidized for 5 or 6 hundred dollars or are they paying the penalty to get out of the AT&T contract? I'm just wondering why so many people are excited about it when it seems like most buyers would have just re-extending their contract with AT&T for 2 years.

What version iphone do you have? I've had this happen to my old 1st gen iphone 16GB. I've tried all those tricks but nothing seemed to work and I hated it when I got SMS messages and I couldn't hear them. When I played a iPod song the internal speakers would work temporarily but it would just go back to the way it was in headphone mode. The fix I did was just replacing the headphone jack flex cable. They can be had on e-bay for as low as 7.99-10bucks shipped. Just make sure you order the right one because there are two types depending on the series of the iphone you have. Some sellers note it on the page what to look for when you open your phone. If you feel uncomfortable about opening your phone, you can always get it serviced...but it's not really that bad. This applies to the first gen silverback phones. On the newer 3G phones I believe the headphone jack flex cables were all the same.

I jailbroke and unlocked my iphone 4.0.1. to Tmobile. I butchered the sim card during the operation but got it saddled anyway. Works great!!!!

A couple of minor issues I have noticed after using unlocked iphone4 4.0.1 on Tmo:
Death grip signal loss is more prononced. No longer have MMS and web pages load slower.
Not surprised about death grip sensitivity or slower web page loading as Edge is not as fast as 3G but I would like to have MMS back. Sill happy w/Unlock.Any suggwstions on MMS issues?

Today, I jailbroke and unlocked my iphone4 4.0.1 using jailbreaker and DevTeams unlock tool. Post JB/UL carrier is T-Mobile USA w/Edge Network.
Everything is good except lost MMS along the way. But still happy, happy, happy to be free of ATT!!!!!!
