I'm trying to jailbreak for 4.0.2 for my iphone 3g....when i browse firmware iPhone1,2_4.0.2_8A400_Restore.ipsw on redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3..it's happen "unable to recognize specified IPSW"....Do you know why?thanks

That is the reason in step 8, you should select the iOS 4.0 firmware file (iPhone1,2_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw).

Devs should stop doing this to 3g. Its waste of time and misleading. Ios4 is not suitable for these devices already. Too many complaints and disappointments.

If not for battery issues, its so damn slooooow. Thats why everytime i always switch back to 3.1.3. Devs we are fine with 3.1.3. Start with 3gs and stop giving false hope for 3g users.

When redsn0w gets to the reboot at step 14, it just doesn't reboot. The redsnow window stays on "waiting for reboot" and the phone never reboots. How long is this supposed to take/what am I doing wrong? Please help!

If I have a unlocked iphone and running on t-mobile if u update to 4.0.2 and use redsnow will it allow me to access the phone so i can get to cydia and unlock it again?

I have Activated an iPhone 3G OS 4.0.2 with the Phonebook card Sim then Jailbreaked it finally Unlocked with Ultrasnow. The trouble is that when i remove the phonebook card Sim to replace it with any Sim, it goes back to the Emergency Lock screen. If i leave the phone without a Sim Card it will work fine. How could i permanently activate the iPhone?
Strange enough I have another iPhone 3G OS4.0.2 Jailbreak + Unlock in the same manner and it is fine with any Sim Cardxaffier

THIS works just fine. Just follow the instructions and this will be fine. Just jailbroke and unlocked a 3 G.

when i clicked choose with the firmware while in redsnow it said iPod ''iPod'' could no be restored because the firmware file is not compatible is i cause i have an ipod or what?? please help

This guide is only for iPhone 3G and not for iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 users.

you shouldn't do steps 5 and 6, they're not necessary..
after connecting your iphone to the computer, if itunes opens, close it.
then open redsn0w and do all the following steps.. -
following your steps and praying to work, I have OS3.0 (lol) jailbreak with firmware 4.(whatever) jailbreak before (but it was giving me a lot of problems with app updates. So OS4.0.2 with this firmware should work no? I am on a 3g Iphone, mac and latest itunes. I will come back with news :) (praying lol)
