iPhone Dev Team: No Jailbreak For iOS 4.0.2, iOS 3.2.2
iPhone Dev Team has announced earlier today that they won’t be releasing the jailbreak for iOS 4.0.2 for iPhone, iPod Touch or iOS 3.2.2 for iPad. Apple released iOS 4.0.2 two weeks back, which fixed the security vulnerability in iOS 4 and iOS 4.0.1 for iPhone, iPod Touch and iOS...

That disappointing but does make total sense. Can't believe apple still have locked Bluetooth and won't let us change out SMS tone! Lol
-
lol first...about time..but seriously i don't blame them
-
first and makes sense..
-
yea i hate the standard sms tones bought a new iphone4 and it came with 4.02 so hoping wont have to wait too long to get my jailbreak back
-
Yeah, thats ridiculous!. I feel sorry for the people who doesnt have another choice than wait, but i think its a smart move of the dev team. I know is hard specially for those who need to unblock the phone to use with another carrier but is just a question of time, sooner or later the will be realease the full solution

looks like history is repeating just like with 3.1.3. Just buckle up for now, just use another phone because it might takes weeks or months.
Thanks iPhone dev team :D
-
Lol you gave up waiting for a White one then?!
-
not first
-
Better to wait for jb to be on safe side
-
Im glad I went to iphone hacks before I updated my phone lol

Probably because 4.0.2 firmware is not a major update (new features) and iPhone Dev is waiting for 4.1;so apple might add new security; might be same as 4.0.2,so it will be easy for dev.
-
Yes!..I agree Turtledynamics!
I just bought an iphone 3gs from my friend and he accidently upgraded it to 4.02...Ughh the wait is forever!..well..because I just got the phone..lol -
that's sort of rude to advertise your site here
-
DivaD, you can revert your phone back to 3.2.2. If you don't back up after upgrading you can even restore all of your settings :)
-
Does he have it with jailbreak?, maybe your iphone has the shsh file in cydia and you can downgrade to 4.0.1..aybe that help
-
NOT the first! you deserve to lose bc you advertised your uncool website.
-
NOT the first! loser!
-
True it is not a major update, it was released only fix the pdf exploit, so there's no need to release a jailbreak yet as 4.1 is just round the corner. Im waiting as well coz i just got a brand new iphone 4 with 4.0.2 on and just have to wait now. I have complete respect for the jailbreaking team and will be waiting patiently for the new release. Thanks
-
You can still jailbreak download the 4.0.1 3GS firmware and when in iTunes hold down shift and click on update and select the firmware you just downloaded and you will have downgraded :)
-
sad... i just got my iphone 4 but it is in 4.0.2... cant do anything to downgrade....
-
I have a jailbroken iPhone 4, first of all, thanks to everyone involved in it, secondly, they already know how they are going to jailbreak 4.1, im sure, or they wouldnt have released the pdf exploit jailbreak so fast. So Apple.... how many other security exploits are in your phone that we dont know about? Me thinks Apple should start thinking more OPEN minded, because isnt that the main reason that ppl go to andriod, because of flexibility? I understand your dumb motto about your iOS, but times are changing, and your going to hurt yourself be not changing with them. I look forward to the day when you have to admit that there was a better way than what your doing.
-
i know right! it's as if the common sense settings were denied and banned from the phone.
I know if i ever visited cupertino i would most likely go postal on the whole lot. There seems to be a different type of brain mentality at that place that rubs me wrong.

Well saying that Apple has modified its iOS security to stop Jail Break is a statment that is too early. With the passage of time the minds of one's who have the ability to understand how to Jailbreak the Device may find a solution to allow Apple iOS 4.0.2 to be jail broken.
-
Soon we may hear that a developer has found the way to jailbreak the device easily.
-
I just brought an iphone 4. Accepted i couldnt jailbreak it. Plugged it in to activate and it come up "would you like to update?" My firmware is 4.0.1 which means i can jailbreak :D
So there's still hope for people buying iphone 4's. -
I have a 3G on 3.1.3. I never went to 4.0 because of all the issues I have read about on iPhoneHacks. I have two questions:
1. Can I still upgrade to 4.0.1 and jailbreak now? Will I be forced to upgrade to 4.0.2?
2. Is there anything to gain by upgrading to iOS4?Thank you
-
What is the difference between a 3G and a 3GS, I mean why is there a jailbreak for 4.0.2 for 3G and not for a 3GS. I have a 3GS on 3.1.3.
