Ipod touch 2nd gen MC, needs to be on 3.1.2, does this mean you can't have 4.1 on it and jaibreak it, just downgrade back to 3.1.2, or does it means, you need to be on 3.1.2, to jailbreak and upgrade to 4.1 with custom rom?

No, it will only jailbreak iOS 4.1. There is currently no way to unlock baseband 05.14.02.

If you have the SHSH blobs and can successfully downgrade to 3.1.2 then it should work as well I think.

I have 3gs old bootrom with 3.1.3 n baseband 5.12...Jailbreaken by spirit n unlocked by ultrasnow.
My question will this jailbreak preserve baseband so that i can also unlock it by Ultrasnow. -
HDR was only for iphone 4 - I moved to 4.1 on my 3gs because opening and closing apps wasn't so laggey - you install 4.1 via tunes (I don't think upgrade is the right word) then jailbreak. you are probably SOOL with the jailbreak this time.

I thought this was going to be a jailbreak for the 4.1... I'm supposed to have 3.1.2? (I have the 3gs with new bootrom on 4.0.2..)I guess that means a even longer wait? cause downgrading isnt gonna happen (tried every way possible, no luck)

If my 3GS is factory unlock it means that I only need jailbreak right? So it's safe for me to update my 4.0.1 to 4.1 so when jailbreak comes it's nothing else to be done but to jailbreak it correct me if I'm wrong!!!

Sorry if I'm being redundant but... How do you access your shsh blobs if they've been stored? I'm so desperate to jailbreak my iPhone 3Gs, oldbootroom, 4.0.2. I've brought it from Canada to Sweden and have been waiting for weeks... No way I can be releived that this will work probably?

Btw my iPhone was jailbroken until I restored it in June... I don't know where my blobs would be lol^^
