Maybe they should wait till iPad 7 inch version or iPhone 5 is released. Such great exploit without possibility to patch by Apple firmware release. It would be pitty to loose it for next gen idevices, especially if it turns out to be untethered.
For now some other userland exploit or something else could be released = giving Apple chance to fix. -

I think that whether they relise a userlan hack or a SHAtter Apple will always have a fix. Maybe. HOPEFULLY!! Some of us could only sent a few cents their way for all the work that they do. Take what we get and if you don't like it learn the way of the hacker with a cool name as well. I'm just sayin!!

meant to say that hopefully after all of apples's nitpicking on the whole hack thing, the dev team or an individual like Geohot will come correct with a solid hack/hactivation for those that do not want or cant get out of a contract to sign with att. There will always be a way to get Cydia that we just gatta be like herds led by the ones that can.
my two cents, i might be wrong, and if i am i will stand to be corrected.

its not like the new iPhone 5; or what have you , will be coming out soon so waiting till then would be a while. btw (Y) dev team and ur great work. honestly without u's iphones ect would be pretty avg more like very average

It means as long as you own whatever your ios device is, be it iPad, iPhone, or itouch it will be jailbreakable forever no matter what firmware apple releases so long as you don't buy new hardware

Alright so I got the iPhone 4 and was unlucky enough to get the second Australian batch so
I got 4.0.2 lol should I just bite the bullet and upgrade to 4.1 seeming the jailbreak will b released on 4.1 firmware :) -

Well I'm still pressed on updating because I have an iPhone 4 4.0.1 jailbroken. The thought of a tethered jailbreak sucks. I don't want to rejailbreak every time I reboot or turn off my device. HDR photos and hd uploading are tempting treats...but I will wait to see what jailbreak comes out.

I live overseas. I bought a Iphone 4 v4.0.2 in the US that had been activated. I have been using it wireless only and as an ipod here as there is no jailbreak available at this time. I decided to upgrade to 4.1 software and followed the instructions to back up the SHSH files before I updated. Everything seemed to go well, but when I turned on the Iphone again, it said there was no SIM and now I can’t even get out of the emergency mode. So, the activation seems to be gone and I have a dead phone.
Any ideas? Should I restore 4.0.2? Will that even help as the problem is due to the activation, not the software?
Please help!

u can activate the phone using a sim from the carrier to which it locked or a phone book sim (like the dits sim).. i think it will available in ebay in ur country.
Now guys.. i have a question.. http://www.unlockiphoneus.com/ ...is this site a genuine one?? they tell they can unlock iphone 4 with ios 4.1.. it smells fishy .. whts ur opinion??

Everyone will be able to jb no matter what even if they come out with the jailbreak before 4.2 because it will take a change in the hardware to prevent the newest jailbreak

Perhaps with SHAtter instead of untethered or tethered it's kind of both. Like the idevice will boot but in safe mode only until you can rerun cydia or a certain app to get into the main mode.
