I have an iPhone 4 with ios 4.1 and baseband 2.10.04.
I know shatter will be able to jailbreak the iPhone 4 , but will ultrasnow release an unlock for 2.10.04 baseband along with this ? Pls help ... -
Federico, if you jailbreak the iPod and a new firmware upgrade is provided by apple then you have two choices. First is to 'undue' your jailbreak and simply upgrade to the new version, or the second to wait for the jailbreak scene to provide a hack that allows you to safely upgrade. Eitherway, jailbreaking an idevice is currently fully reversable.

It will jailbreak it but not unlock it. Its going to be a few more months until an unlock is available. They have been too focused on making the jailbreak work that the unlock will come later. It took them nearly 6 months to find a way to unlock 3.1.3 after it was released so just be patient and all will be well.

It is nice I won't deny it but i really hope they don't release until 4.2 comes out this November for iPad and all other iDevices so we are all on board with new features. Great news none the less.

why do you wish for that? some people cannot use their devices because they are locked etc.

I heard the SHAtter will jailbreak ALL EXISTING iDevices for life. Does that mean that newer firmwares won't take the jailbreak off once you've jail broken your device? Before you all tell me "your an idiot" yes I know I'm not as smart as some of you guys. But still it doesn't hurt to ask. Oh yeah " awesome work guys on SHAtter jailbreak" .

If im not mistaken it will take it off once updated you will just have to re-Jailbreak but then again im not sure I don't have much info on shatter.

Hey, after reading all comments I'm little confused. I bought iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0.2, 1.59.00 baseband and simlock for AT&T. Will I be able to unlock it after shatter jailbreak release? /i know jailbreak doesnt unlock the phone/ Thanks

I bought an old iphone 3gs lock with vodafone, i did something stupid by restore the firmware to 4.1 and now i stuck at the activation, i bought a phonebook simcard to activate but its not working

Yeah, I have an iphone 3GS with iOS 4.1, 05.14.02 modem firmware, 6.4 bootloader, I don't care about phone being unlocked as I am sticking with at&t as my carrier, Just patiently waiting for SHAtter to be released so the my iphone can finally be jailbroken, Thanks.

i bought mine in the states and it was new with the 4.0.2 software, so will this work on that?

If someone can shed light on my situation, I have an iphone 4 on firmware ver. 4.0.2 baseband: 01.59.00
bootloader 2.6 am I pretty much screwed? and I do not have shsh blobs on cydia saved.If someone can help me out it would be great

If it came with 4.0.2 you might as well update to 4.1 only 4.0.1 and under can be jailbroken on the iphone 4. Hope this helps.

If you mean for jailbreak just update to 4.1 and wait for shatter to come out and for unlock im not quite sure as I don't unlock my phone.

I think he is worried due to apple fixing this exploit (which I highly doubt right now) im personally excited about shatter due to my iphone being my main internet connection on my computer.

Yes Johny you will be able to unlock baseband 1.59.00 with ultrasn0w.

William don't give out bad info! Currently iphones on 4.0.2 have a baseband that is unlockable via ultrasn0w!!! Once you upgrade to 4.1 then you will be waiting until the next unlock tool is available. Don't make the Dev's Team job harder by giving out such flippant info.
@Stephanie, stay on the current iOS. DO NOT update otherwise your iphone 4 will be a very expensive ipod for sometime.

Mike, do not listen to William. As he points out he does not unlock his iphone so he doesn't know what he is talking about.
Firstly stay on iOS 4.0.2 the baseband is still unlockable via ultrasn0w. If you update your iOS to 4.1 then even when the new jailbreak is released there is no current news of a new unlock forthcoming to unlock the baseband update in iOS4.1 .
Unfortunately you need a iphone that is jailbroken to be able to install ultrasn0w and without SHSH blobs saved on saurik's server there is no current way to either jailbreak or downgrade your iOS. Looks like you will just have to wait for the new SHatter exploit to be released into the wild before you can jailbreak.

Yeah, but isn't it kind of their fault for jumping the gun so quickly? They COULD have waited, it's not like anyone forced them to get it.
