well i actually jailbreak my iphone 3g to ios 4.1, i am waiting for its unlock after the launch of ios 4.2, what i have experienced is the battery time is not that much if you use multitasking specially with wifi, so does 4.2 help iphone 3g in battery timing?

Sorry Mr E the guys are right ,there is NO unlock for 4.1-BB 5.14.02 and hopefully they will reals it this weekend. I also used latest pawnage tool (4.1.2)in my 3G and don't know how the hill the BB was upgraded too. I am stuck with 2 iPhone and can't unlock them.

i'm with 3G. actually i've 4.1, no jailbreak. but seems 4.2 will be faster. as my contract is over, i want to jailbreak now and unlock also. what you want me to do. whether i need to update 4.2 with apple update or wait for 4.1 jailbreak and unlock steps from your site. pls guide me.

So this will be my first os update since jailbreaking. 3gs, 4.1, 5.14.02. I have cydia saving shsh blobs, not that I know how to access them. I've dl "apt backup" from cydia which claims to backup cydia apps. I know the basics of ftp'ing into my phone. It sounds like jailbreakers will have to upgrade, re-jailbreak, & re-install everything from backups. I've heard people mentioning tiny umbrella for some backups but I don't know what it does. Don't see the point in updating os. Can't we just stay on 4.1 & not loose our data?

Months already 3GS - 4.1 and the unlucky last fw . It is out of jail,
But still in chains! ;) -
Of course I will continue with my jailbroken iPhone 3GS.
You see, I need to have my day's agenda, being calendar appointments and tasks due on my lock screen and home screen.
Absurdly, this is impossible on a normal iPhone.
The Lockinfo app on Cydia is a lifesaver and literally transforms a usless device into a proper smartphone

what should i do after the release of 4.2? should i update it to 4.2? or should i update it to 4.2 without updating the baseband or is it ok to update both iOS and baseband thanks. btw i need to unlock it ....i really don't know what to do with my case.
