Sorry but I'm kinda new to this jailbreaking stuff. When I see people talk about bootrom is that the same thing as the modem firmware? Also I am one of the many that got a little excited about 4.1 and lost my unlock when i jailbroke with limera1n. SO if I have 4.1 with 5.14.02 should I still wait to get 4.2.1 or does it not make a difference? Am I just waiting for the same unlock on 4.2.1 as i am right now with 4.1 on 5.14.02?

Also if I am waiting for the same unlock either way would it be better to just keep 4.1 so that my jailbreak is untethered? Would my jailbreak on 4.2.1 be tethered?

So let me see if I understood...It has no difference if I have 4.1 with 5.14.02 in my 3GS or if I upgrade to 4.2.1? Am I just waiting for the same unlock on 4.2.1 as I am with 4.1 on 5.14.02? There are two answers but also two questions in both interrogatives!?!?

Works great on my 3g also. Cydia seems to also be at least 50% smoother.

Hi, this requires both IOS4.2.1 and IOS 4.1, but there is no 4.1 for IPAD. Which shall i use then...??? thanks...

Depends which version of 3GS you have. Older = untethered, newer = tethered.

An unlock is just a few more days away, I know it's tempting to get all hyper as the adrenalin starts running wild but a few deep breathing exercises should calm the anxiety and the long wait will be well worth it, that is until the next major iOS release, then y'all gonna poke the upgrade button in iTunes without considering the consequences and hey presto we'll meet back here again like old times sake asking about an unlock for the latest 5.16.02 baseband.

Will my jailbreak be gone if I update to 4.2.1? I am on 4.1 now, jail broke using limera1n.and limera1n is a boot room exploit that cannot be patched? What does that mean?

FOR ALL THOSE WHO ARE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING STUCK AT UPLOADING RAMDISK....Run redsnow as administrator also run it under windows 95 mode under properties. Hopefully this will help you! GL
