You need to preserve your shah for 4.1 and use pwnage tool to upgrade this keep your baseband and let you upgrade to 4.2.1

Hey, guys. Quick question. Is it possible to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.1 using this PwnageTool now? I know that during iOS upgrade iTunes contacts apple server to check if it is the newest version.. and now we already have iOS 4.2.1 released. I need unlock, so I cannot upgrade to 4.2.1. Thank you in advance for the answer ;)

1. Guys, technically... does an unlock (i.e.,ultrasnow)matter or has any kind of bearing if u do not wish to change/shift your carrier but jst want ur iPhone Jailbroken? & frm a JB state, a later iOS version releases & u just wish to upgrade to that current iOS & rejailbreak again? Any complications w/ that?
2.Assuming you have a fac-unlock iPhone, jailbroken state, & wish to upgrade to the most current iOS version... does it involve any kind of hazard if u simply upgrade & use appropriate JB tool not considering whether ur BB upgrades as well? Any hazards w/ such case for a factory unlock iPhone?

NO jb yet for 3GS new bootrom and 4gen devices and 3G ipod touch so We can't jailbreak on 4.2.1 so maks the unlock useless at the moment and 4.3 will be released half december so WAIT DEV TEAM!! Just a couple weeks THX

OK, can someone assist a little.. I have a 3G that was jailbroken but not unlocked. I upgraded to ios 4.1 and the phone is now stuffed awaiting the unlock that is due today. I wish to change from the locked service provider (o2) to tmobile. My question is what do I actually need to do to unlock the phone. I need a simple guide as I have no idea at all. I assume that I connect via usb but step by step after that what will I need to do when it is released??? Thanks in advance..........

I have updated my I phone 3G with iOS 4.2.1 . After that my Phone is locked and it show no service on the mobile network portion. Is their any solution for me...........please reply

What alternative phone do you rely on, while iphone remains unlocked? I am using an old Nokia 1100, which boasts of having sold 200 million pieces! Poor man's phone, cheap and works.Though I do want my iphone back, I am so deeply stuck in recovery mode with the Itunes + USB logo screen! Till then, the Nokia phone just rings along....
