AT&T To Acquire T-Mobile USA For $39 Billion – What Does It Mean For Its Customers?
AT&T has just announced that it will be acquiring T-Mobile USA from Germany’s Deutsche Telekom for $39 billion in stock and cash.
So it looks like T-Mobile customers in the US will get the iPhone (indirectly) sometime in the future, which has been offered exclusively by AT&T since the launch of the iPhone and is also offered by Verizon from February 2011.
AT&T and Deutsche Telekom has issued the following statement to announce the deal:

Not a happy camper. I'm getting a great deal at Tmobile and AT&T's service and pricing will be disappointing.I like my unlocked iphone 4 on Tmobile. :(

R.I.P UltraSn0w

You wouldn't be happy regardless. Tmobile has been suffering and was already in talks to sell to sprint. It looks like att made the better offer. If tmobile doesn't sell now, they'll eventually go bankrupt in the usa and close up shop anyway.

NOOOOOOOOOO I hate AT&T. Their service sucks. Their plans are expensive. They limit you on their data plan. You have to pay for internet tethering. I've been with T-mo for 10 years and they haven't disappointed me yet. Customer service is exceptional. Man this just ruined my day.

umm #winning. hahaHAHahahHAhahahahaaahaha jk. this blows..

Fuuu$@!!!!

T-Mobile will become ATT...mmmm...What about TM customer's with unlimitted Data plan, will they keep their unlimitted plan when the transition is complete...I have to limit myself with ATT 2gb data plan, this is the only thing I don't like about ATT service.

Could AT&T/T-Mobile Deal Mean an HSPA+ iPhone?http://www.lightreading.com/document.asp?f_src=lightreading_gnews&doc_id=205809

With Centennial, I had unlimited data and was able to keep when migrating over to AT&T's network. Maybe they'll do the same for T-Mo.

Well as i know and from my experience iPhone works very well on EDGE networks, also on specification we see EDGE - Yes. Because i have iPhone 3G and we use in Lithuania slow GPRS (if you have very old device), then EDGE and of course 3G. So where we don't have 3G signal, iPhone showing E meaning of EDGE and internet works slower but very well... So what real standard T mobile use?
-
well if any of you actually read what tmobile posted on their site, this is not the end of tmobile, it just means that att and tmobile will be sharing the same network making both better wireless providers.
-
It's gonna be like the AT&T/Cingular merger all over again. Anyone remember what THAT one was like?
-
Now T-Mobile service is gonna be pathetic too.
-
Would have been better as a lingerie commercial. :)

What is up with all of these acquisition and mergers? This is why we have poor customer services. Once they get too big that's when customer service goes down the drain. The good ones are the one being bought out and this applies to other businesses as well. This is not good news at all and now we only have Sprint and Verizon left to choose from. Hmmm. Reminds me of the big three in Detroit (just a thought). To big to fail or too fat to walk? Lol. I had bad experiences with ATT before and are not planning to go back anytime soon. I also had T-Mobile before and was very happy with them. To bad I was planning to switch back. I guess not now. Isn't there another GSM cell company out there left in United States. Hmmm... perhaps I could start up one :) Just need a few Billion dollars to start? Who wants in? LOL
