How can you downgrade to 4.0?the new Sn0wbreeze doesn't work.

The tutorial is not exactly right!! All modes of SB preserve your baseband!!! Expert Mode will allow you to add cydia packages and boot logos and change the root size! The preserve BB option just updates your phone and keeps the BB at the lower BB but does not JB

I followed all instructions, but when iTunes asked me to keep my phone connected after the process was complete and that it'll restart in 10 sec the phone stays in DFU Mode but the phone does not power on at all. I had 4.0 firmware and BB 05.13.04 using windows 7 64bit. Please help!!

I've had the same problem, so I tried using expert mode and then select BUILD IPSW and it worked for me so hopefully it'll work for you as well.

I used sn0w to jb and preserve my unlock ip4. Problem with 1 bar Fixed but for some reason I cannot receive or send mms? I'm on att in USA baseband. 1.59 and 4.3.1? Any ideas? Please help if you know of a solution. Thanks for your time

today i updated my iphone 3gs 32gb from 3.1.3 (bb 05.12.01)to ios 4.3.1(my bb was preserved) just following instructions above and everything was a perfect job i will tell how :1.used tinyumbrella to save my shsh2.cooked custom ipsw with sn0wbreeze 3.expert mode >general tick activate iphone4.when prompoted to update my bb to 06.15 i do not update 5.create ipsw 6.put iphone in dfu mode on isntructions given by snobreeze 7.launch itunes ****+restore select ipsw created by sn0wbreeze 8.enjoy your iphone on 4.3.1 with the old your bb9.launch cydia go to manage>sources>repo666.ultrasn0w.com and install ultrasn0w reboot and you are unlocked pm me via msn sefkrasniqi@msn.com i will help u.

It looks like you have not put the iPhone in the pwnaed DFU mode properly. Try the process again and follow the instructions carefully.

You can follow this guide to update your iPhone 3GS with pre-jailbroken iOS 4.3.1 and also preserve the baseband (keep it at 05.12.01) so that you can install Ultrasn0w to unlock it. Please read the instructions carefully especially the ones highlighted in bold.

Maybe this is an old (stupid) question but... Is it safe to do a "Shift+Update" on iTunes with custom IPSW to prevent erasing music, videos and installed apps? Either how could I prevent installed apps from being deleted? (****, Twitter, Angry Birds and savegames, scores, configuration, the whole thing)...

Im trying to jailbreak my 3gs and ive downloaded the firmware for 3gs and then extract the file but it is just a folder and not a .ipsw file. I tried chaning it to a .ipsw so snowbreeze would reconise it but it didnt work. please can someone point out what i am doing wrong?

Guys, you must be more specific. Provide Jailbreak tool used, firmware version installed as minimum.

after attempting to restore in Itunes I receive an error code 17. says it can't be restored and returned the Iphone 3gs to the screen telling to plug into itunes.
