Browser Speed Test – Mobile Safari Vs Internet Explorer 9 Mobile Vs Android Browser
Microsoft previewed the next version of Windows Phone codenamed “Mango” at MIX 2011, Microsoft’s popular annual conference for web and app developers.
Mango includes a number of new features such as multitasking capability, a hardware-accelerated mobile version of Internet Explorer 9, Twitter in the People hub, better support for Office documents in SkyDrive etc.

i just say one thing.. who the F cares?
-
windows phones are rubbish and full of bugs...they have left it way to late and in the uk are are really expensive...
-
So let me see if I get this straight, I can build a webpage/test and center my requirements around some benchmark for that specific page, then brag that my web browser is the fastest because it renders that one page faster than the competition? Wow, I thought it would be more complicated than that
-
as theo sad...i just tried it on my pc...chrome god 7 FPS and imagine this...IE9 got 60!!!!WTF...the worst speed test EVER!!!!
-
Where's the link so I can test to see if my ip4 really goes that slow
-
http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Performance/SpeedReading/default.html#Something fishy going on... I tried this with 4 browsers. (2 on iphone 4, 2 on my PC)All with about the same results. I guess a windows 7 phone is even faster then a WINDOWS PC with triple the specs of ANY phone..... doubt it
-
I care!! For sure, who wants a slow web browser when there's a choice to have a fast one??!?! To clarify, I care ...IF the overall user experience in real life turns out to be better.
-
I agree. It would be good for Microsoft to allow greater user verifiability if they really want to rebuild their reputation.
-
Void SetBrowserSpeed(){ If(browser == IE9) { FramesPerSecond = 60; } else { FramesPerSecond = 7; }}
-
honestly thats not really all that important to me it looks more like a bogus test then anything. why didnt they use a website that used HTML 5 already and really see what loads faster. Also what version of the iOS was the iphone 4 using and what about the android phone?
-
Very questionable test. Lucky for us, someone will more than likely compare these three phones on YouTube by visiting real HTML5 websites.
-
here's the link I thinkhttp://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Performance/SpeedReading/default.htmlI get 2fps on a macbook pro on chrome... riiiiiight. perfect test.
-
I think this is intentionally done. As they said above, it's a war between "web browsers" !!!
-
here's actually the mobile version http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Mobile/Performance/SpeedReading/Default.html 7fps on this one with macbook pro again and chrome
-
If these are as stated "native IE9 browsers" written for each platform and I was the programmer for the iPhone version I would be looking for a new Job.Although in fairness he is handicapped as he only has "2 fingers" Maybe they should consider hiring programmers with a few more digits (or at least programmers who can count)Codgerp.s. did you notice the iPhone has "No Service" perhaps they should learn how to turn it on.
-
The worst benchmark I've ever seen. Microsoft is ridiculous. Period
-
Competition is always good.
-
Internet Explorer? Microsoft Still Make It?
-
jeez i hate apple-heads. just bc its a msoft product we say "who cares" but if this was a apple thing then everyone would scream "apple rules." i love apple and i love msoft (wierd, i know) bc they both make great products. with that being said, i faster browser is very important. just tell all those firefox and chrome users why they dont use IE anymore. it also forces apple and google to update their browsers which apple has only done once, recently. safari moble browser is still slow if you ask me.who care??? everyone!! idiotic comment so go be hypocritical somewhere else.
-
Safari on i3 iMac getting 3FPS?Right... what world they in..... Obvious rigged is opbvious
-
I bet the iPhone's multi tasking is full cookies and cache are full. Apple has made the future of phone first phone to have such features now the compotion can only copy or make less of phone there for no matter how fast the browser runs iPhone is the best and always will be. You have computers for speed and iPhone for the features.
-
The source codes for the tests are available if anyone is interested in looking for "cheating" and "rigged." It seems anytime MS beats the competition for anything, it's deemed rigged. Whereas, anything MS loses something it's "OMG M$ sucks!"
-
Apple has good Hardware...MSFT has good software...Maybe Apple should consider WindowsPhone7!!!That wont happen...Because there has to be some looser...
-
Funny how their "reading test" page is slow as a cow using any leading web browser on a fast desktop machine. Obviously the "test" was rigged to favor their browser. I can't tell what's more pathetic, Microsoft's continuing attempts to market their products deceptively, or their latest trend of giving their executives styling makeovers to make them seem like hipsters in their 20s.

Who cares if they are late to the party, the video says it all IOS 5 better bring some real changes because the worst thing is waiting for a web page to finish. Considering that we have limited battery and cpu, having acceleration like this helps in every way, so we do care people like me who own an iphone 4.
-
Worse the ipad 2 is the same, so its not cpu or video issues but the browser it self. Apple has been doing great work but their web browsers have not kept up.
-
They where using WIFI who cares if there is no service, maybe you should think first.
-
Your making me ROFL, MS software better LOL. Its one test, I am impressed that MS came out with a product that works and seems to do well, that said its no big deal, its not like Google or Apple programmers can't come back with the same performance or more if they take time, right now they are busy finish up iOS 5. If you buy because of this one test, I am even more ROFL. I tend to buy products that do more than one horse show. Its good MS has done this, but this one thing does not make a phone.
-
I checked it out on my Chrome browser and it ran fine nice and fast, so think first and get to bed your mommy is calling you. MS has done a great job, if you run the same test on a regular system like my Core 2 Quad 2.8 it did with Chrome in 11 ms.
