Updated Redsn0w For iOS 4.3.3 May Fix Battery Drain Issue
Earlier today, iPhone Dev team released updated versions of Redsn0w and PwnageTool, while iH8sn0w released an updated version of Sn0wbreeze that includes a fix for the side switch vibration issue.
Dev team and iH8sn0w acknowledged that iPhone hacking expert Stefan Essar (Twitter handle - i0n1c) had figured out a way to fix the issue.

I noticed my battery life was terrible after jailbreaking with redsnow on 4.3.3. I can confirm that after using the updated version released today that the battery life is so much better :)

has anyone success using PwnageTool 4.3.3.1 to jailbreak iphone4? I had done it 4 times NO luck for me it said, iTune can't restore the request built for this device any help pls thanks!

Lee what is your current base band or modem firmware?i just did the wife's with no problems

Also beware of jailbreak applications draining battery in the background. I have noticed iFile uses 10-20% constantly and this causes around -22mA drain. I used the unix shell command "top" from cydia to monitor CPU and battery detective for drain.

It happen to me and the problem was lack of disk space. Once I started the restore it was taking over 10 gigs of space.

Is there a way to check what version of redsn0w was used to jailbreak?

Lee, Can't speak directly for redsnow, but I was having the same problem with pwnage tool. The problem was Tiny Umbrella. Make sure under Advanced,uncheck Set hosts to Cydia on exit, apply and quit and also quit itunes if it was open.Fixed it for me.

i think @fas was trying to say...Jailbreak = Consistently running 3rd Party OS-level Apps = Shorter battery lifeif not.... then he is in fact a n00b!

I tried this method, but when I try to open my redsn0w rc16 I get "Unable to recognize specific IPSE" i took sim card out, restarted, hard restarted. and used fresh download of ipsw and still get error. So I can't update to newer Jailbreak

I have no service problem. I have tried all restore process with all firmware and also did jb and installed ultrasn0w but searching..no service what I need to do plz help me. I have baseband of 06.15.00

@JF5 thanks I try ur method and I was able to JB with RedSn0w, everything went well the only big ass problem I had was the 3G network. there wasn't 3G network but I do had wifi. I was so lucky I can restored back to stock FW 4.3.3. now im scared to JB again. does anyone have this problem?

I have seen a marked improvement in battery life after re-jailbreaking with RC16 of redsn0w.

Jailbroke 1st with pwnage 4.3.3 and battery life dreadful. Jailbroke again with pwnage 4.3.3.1 - still no improvement in battery life.3GS :(

I have used jailbreak apps for years and never had an issue with battery drain or ANY other issue! Do you work for Apple???? The site is called iPhonehacks for a reason. Don't like it, then take your comments elsewhere! Don't knock it till you try it! iPhone is 20x better broken and if you say otherwise you have never tried JB!

I have the same issue.my iPhone 4 is JB with version 4.3.2.I am trying to upgrade to the JB 4.3.3.1 either Pwnage of Sn0wbreeze... and my itune is unable to restore the new IPSW file... I get error 21 constantly.I tried both on a Mac and on PC.many times...any ideas????

Why is it so difficult to unlock certain updates, for eg. 04.10.01 for iphone 4?

i did unlock my 3gs with ios 4.3 but unfortunally the batter life decrease very fast. can any show he how it can be fixed

Hey Idwa, I've got a 3GS too. Battery drain is a Pain! Did you try doing the Redsn0w 16? I'm downloading it atm. I'm sure it's going to work let's hope. Do give it a shot. Ain't no problems with baseband or ultrasn0w since redsn0w doesn't upgrade the baseband. Chao!

I also have huge battery drain after JB 4.3.3, using sn0wbreeze. have iphone4, BB-01.59.00. everything else is working fine. any suggestions?

I've had my iphone jailbroken since it first came out, used the recent 4.3.3 redsn0w JB as stated above and noticed it drains battery quite a bit more than my last 4.3.1 JB.Still can live with it I guess.

I have used sn0wbreeze 2.7.3 to jailbreak my iphone 4, do i still have to use redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 to fix itthanks
