Apple Releases iOS 5 Beta To Developers; Reveals Hidden Features [Updated]
Apple has just released the first beta version of iOS 5 (build 9A5220p)to developers of iOS Developer program.
iOS 5 beta is available for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4th generation, iPod Touch 3rd generation, iPad and iPad 2.

Some very cool stuff that didn't even make the Top 10 at the keynote. Love the weather at location and keyboard shortcuts.

The iPod app on iPhone is split up into music and video like on iPod touch.There are a few new accesability options, some audio controls, such as fading left or right, and something about gestures in menus I'm not quite clear what it does yet.You can actually see the amount of local storage taken up by specific apps, organized by size.Also it may be worth mentioning that the Newsstand cannot be placed in a folder

Also it might just be me, but it seems they might have changed the notification sounds to be more discrete/shorter.

Jailbreak for iOS5 Beta? any predictions?Probably this iCloud feature will give some extra problems to the jailbreak community, any thoughts?

I actually noticed a few hidden features myself.In the iPod (now "Music"), when songs are longer than the bar, it will no longer just display the periods (ex: "Song Namer Here (Rem…").It now actually will slide through the song name after a few seconds.I find that music is actually very buggy right now, if you change songs, for some reason a lot of the time there will actually be two songs, your old one, which is not on, and then your Now Playing song. You can't get out of this unless you end the Music App. (Multitasking Menu)One thing I really like is the ability to use your iPhone when it is syncing.I can't seem to get WiFi syncing working though, anyone know about it??Thanks

Wifi syncing is not enabled in beta1 according to the release notes in the prerelease documentation

90% of these overrated iOS 5 features are already full and operational on a jailbroken 4.0 and up. This iOS 5 is a solidified evidence that Apple may be running out of ideas on it's iOS system. The only difference between this iOS and Cydia options is the UI. My prediction: Apple will reduce the frequency of major updates and stick to fixing bugs and errors iOS, while cracking down on freelancers with overrated tower light beams.

Yes, you could install all this features one by one from Cydia, BUT I will slow down your iphone a lot better (running mubileSubstrate) then having it natively on your phone from Apple.

if you at some of the pics in IOS 5, it seems the sms bubbles are different color(aqua or turquoise).am I the only one that noticed it?

cuz i saw the keynote, regular message app integrates now "iMessage" which is the service that brings messages to ipad and ipod for free between iOS devices.

Also I just found a volume slider to the left of the orientation lock on the app switcher. It's pretty hidden not sure if anyone else mentioned it
