iOS 5 Can Be Jailbroken Using Redsn0w And Sn0wbreeze
That was quick! iPhone Dev Team has released Redsn0w 0.9.9b4 for iOS 5 to jailbreak iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. iOS 5 was released just 2 hours back
But it doesn't come as a major surprise as Dev team had released Redsn0w to jailbreak iOS 5 GM, and since Golden Master is the shipping version of the iOS software, we expected it to be possible to jailbreak iOS 5 public release as well.
Dev team has provided the following information on their blog about the new version:

Got 3gs with ipad modem firmware? then you are stuck with the ipad baseband. can't do any normal updates no more

thanks to ****, is yhe same build of GM (9a334). Noone makes nothing, this jail break it's thetered as per ios 5 beta 1. IONIC is a bullshit gunmachine.

I have done jailbreak so long time ago, that I don't know all the news, so I am not sure about IPSW, do I need to downloaded as in earlier redsn0w versions, or now it detects it automatically and downloads it?

It seems to be working fine for me so far, but I have only installed the program and booted teathered. Let's see how it goes from hear I have to set up my new toy at four am! God I am worse that a drug adddict sucking....well never mind

I updated this morning, performed the Jailbreak, installed Folder Enhance, MyWi, SBSetting, My 3g and Wifi Extender.Everything is working great, just wish it wasn't a tethered jailbreak, oh well, hopefully soon that will be taken care of.The other thing I didn't like was that I had to reinstall all of my Apps after installing iOS 5, this seems to have come from Apple's end this time and that is annoying. I am guessing that they want to make sure you don't have any apps that aren't iOS 5 compatible installed though.

THIS REDSN0W WILL NOT HACTIVATE! You need to be an iOS developer with a registered UDID to get past all the new activation screens

I was able to JB my Verizon 4 to iOs 5 but can't get out of safe mode either. Had to clear the old iTunes backups/cache to update initially, btw, if you're having trouble updating initially. Wish I could get out of safe mode though!

Hello, I'm on os 4.3.5 iphone 4 unlocked with gevey sim. Is it safe to upgrade to iOS 5 can I use the gevey sim ? Is there anyway I can upgrade without locking my phone?

Hey guys I just wanted to let you know that if you have the MC model of the iPod Touch 4 Cydia will not run after you jailbreak it so don't waste your time. As for you guys getting the safe mode problem it is because some of the apps you have downloaded have caused you springboard to crash probobly because they have not been optimized for iOS 5. Also for you guys getting the 3200 error when trying to update to iOS 5, it is because the update servers are jam packed. I eventually got it to work after like 27 trys but I would just wait 'til later. Thank, bye.
