Dev Team Releases Redsn0w 0.9.9b5 For iOS 5; Adds PwnageTool Functionality
Few hours after iOS 5 was released, Dev team had released Redsn0w 0.9.9b4 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running iOS 5.
As promised, iPhone Dev team has just released a new version of Redsn0w - Redsn0w 0.9.9b5 with PwnageTool functionality. They have also added the public URLs of the iOS 5 firmware files, which means you don't need to point an IPSW file to it any longer.

It is probably because you installed a jailbreak app that is not compatible with iOS 5. You will have to restore with the custom IPSW again and be very careful while installing jailbreak apps or tweaks.

Means if your iPhone or pad turns off for whatever reason you will have to hook it up the your computer and run the program to turn your phone or pad on.....!!! Hope that explanation is ok for you.......

Just uninstall the themes or what you installed last from Cydia, that should fix the problem, also when installing from Cydia make sure what you are installing is compattable for your device...... Hope this helps....!!!!

What about Verizon/CDMA? This article doesn't say this release supports it, but the How To article seems to imply it does - and none of the comments seem to completely confirm or deny whether this works on the Verizon iPhone 4.

I have Jail-broken my phones since the release of the 3GS, but have always waited until unteathered methods were available.I am considering doing a teathered JB this time around, but was wondering, if I have to reboot my phone, does it have to be teathered to a PC or is this only for HARD POWERING off the phone? Also if you do hard power your device, can you still use the phone but it's just not Jailbroken? or is it a doorstop until you can get to a PC?Thanks

hi !upgraded to iOS 5 gm a few days ago & jailbreak worked fine up & until , i had problems updating apps from apple app store on my iPad . had to update those apps in iTunes & then sync. ever had this problem b4? also BTstack (cydia) seems to cause problems by locking up the device on restart & this time had to do a fresh iOS restore in iTunes. jailbreak tool was redsnow 0.9.9.b3take care, !marc

Everything has gone fine with the jb except for now my push notifications for apps like Facebook have not been working does anyone else have this problem? or a fid for it. A response would be greatly appreciated!!

Same here!! Goes in to a string of "Please Wait..." first. Found if you let it sit for about 15 min it starts cycling again and reboots. Any fix for this? have tried JB 5 times all with the same result.

I ended up using Sn0wbreeze instead worked fine! everything works good so might try that if anyone having problems with Red Redsn0w

Hi. I have a ipod touch with jailbreak on IOS 4.2.1!I want to update to IOS 5, but i can't because when i'm going to restore my device itunes said: this device isn't eligible for the requested build. Itunes don't restore my ipod. I tried change the file "hosts" but was the same. Please help me. Thank you.

It's probably because your iPod (old) doesn't support iOS 5. Time to upgrade my friend.
