iPhone Users Reporting Issues With Address Book After iOS 5.0.1 OTA Update
Apple has just confirmed that iOS 5.0.1 hasn't fixed all iPhone battery issues, and if that wasn't bad enough, users have started reported new problems after upgrading to the latest iOS software update.
Paul Hontz of The Startup Foundry writes that after upgrading to iOS 5.0.1 via the over-the-air (OTA) update has screwed up the address book on his iPhone.

Some countries including Kuwait are still suffering from caller ID problems from the previous ios 5 , even after updating all users in kuwait are still facing the same problem that the phone doesnt recognize the (+965) as a country code which makes all local calls come as numbers if it is recorded as +965-xxxxxxxx tons of users informed apple about that issue but no response till now
-
You need to manually add +(whatever your country code is) to your contacts.

I lost all my photos, I had to reboot phone and slowly they came back!
-
Apple as rushed the update because they have found a jailbreak hole and needed to close it! So much for the battery issue!
-
I did my update and I didn't have any problems with it thanx god
-
No problems what so ever. Battery life does seem to have improved. Definitely could use some more work.
-
I did the upgrade OTA and I don't have a problem with my address book in my iPhone 4S. As far as the battery issue goes I don't notice any difference

Now 5.0.2 will come.

How do you delete photo's in photo stream?
-
I did the update OTA and have had no problems with my contacts. Also, no known problems with battery life.
-
This workaround worked for me. Thanks so much! Apple support said to reset the phone...glad I tried this first.
-
You can't delete individual photos - it's all or nothing with photo stream.
-
My contact list appears intact, but I lost all recent emails in one of two email accounts I have on the phone. They just all disappeared like as if I never received them.
-
Contacts are fine for me, but battery life is still horrible. Also, Siri has not worked at all since applying the update. A search on the Apple Discussion forums indicate others have experienced this as well. Frustrating, since Siri is/was a key selling point of the 4S.
-
How do you delete all of them?
-
I did the update OTA and have had no problems with my contacts, SIRI or other apps, but didn't seem to help battery life!
-
Funny the first reported issue was with a verizon customer. Haha Verizon blows!
-
The worst part about it is if u do have a problem, there's no going back to the good firmware for iPhone 4S users.

I have the white iPhone 4s 64GB AT&T, and I have never had any problems with the phone. No problems with iOS 5.0 but updated to 5.0.1 anyway to see if my battery life would improve and it did. No problems with 5.0.1 either.

Photos in photostream are kept on apple's servers for 30 days then automatically deleted. To delete them from your iphone, disable photostream.

HiI had a similar problem when I updated to iOS 5 on iPhone 4 and also on my new iPhone 4s. After updating to iOS 5 SOME of the names wouldn't show & only the number of the caller shows. But only for some contacts not all. The phone shows the number without the area code. I had to work around this by adding this number to those contacts whose names didn't show. So for those contacts I stored the number twice under their names, one without area code & another with the area code. It seems to hlep for the mean time.

There is an option in photostream on the iCloud website to delete all photos. You need to log into your iCloud website. Then go into the photostream settings and select delete all photos (or something close to that).

What do you mean 'Kill' the application? Do you mean delete the icon?

I did the update. my contacts lost their case of amnesia and then found it again. i ve been on the phone with apple care for 40 minutes and they told me to give it about an hour so my phone could update. funny thing is my contact names were recognized immediately after i competed the *228 and then within 2 minutes they went away. WTF

I had a similar problem without updating. My iPhone 4 has 4.3.1 and it suddenly forgot all of my contacts. When I tried syncing with my computer, my contacts reappeared, but the pictures were all switched. I had to manually switch all of the pictures back for all of my 100+ contacts...
