How To Make FaceTime Video Calls Over 3G In iOS 5
One of the features that didn't make it to iOS 5 was the ability to make FaceTime - Apple's video calling feature over 3G.
However, it is possible to enable it on iPhone 4 by hacking one of the system files.
Here are the step by step instructions to enable the feature natively on your jailbroken iPhone 4:
Step 1: Download iFile for iPhone from Cydia or iExplorer for Mac and Windows
Step 2: Browse to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/

I can make FaceTime calls with tango . Just have to have the app.

I hv yet to jb my ip4s yet but last time there's a cydia tweak called Facebreak to use FaceTime over 3G. Or is it tt this tweak doesn't work on ios5?

This allows FaceTime over 3G for FREE! Facebreak and my3g cost money. Wish the plist file could be modified without JB so I can enable on my 4s

Now facetime makes some sense, because with wifi, its very restricted.

I dun get it. Wat u meant by Facebreak and my3G cost money? I downloaded the tweak frm cydia for free. Or u meant to say that after modifying the plist, it will not incur money frm the carrier when using FaceTime?

With 3G, it's still restricted. Can't make video calls to non iPhones. Sigh.

I love these DIY hacks but what's the point? Plenty of people with iThings but the requirement for bothe people to be on a wifi network throughout a FaceTime with both on iphone4 or newer device call has made it that Ive never used it. This needs to be an out of the box 3G feature with cross platform support

I don't understand. i guess you have to be jailbroken to do this. cause iexplorer won't access root inless its jailbroken. i hope im wrong if i am someone please let me know thanks

Isn't there anyone that has the skills to break iphone and the 3G video call issue?As I understand it, iphone has all the prerequisites that needs to call and receive 3G video call from any 3G cellphone.Hope to find my future idol here!

No one mentioned, 3GUnrestricter. This is only for JB-ing iPhones. You can FaceTime with 3G. This is actually old. I have been using it for a year or more.
