I'm thinking of jailbreaking and i only have Windows XP SP2 and SP3 in running redsnow on compability mode, um can you still use your ipod after when you tried jailbreaking it ? I need to know becuase i don't want to break my Ipod...my parents will kill me.......Thanks in Advance

I did everything it said and then it enters DFU mode and it keeps saying "please wait while your build is being identified." Then it says "Identifying......" and it has an empty bar at the bottom. I dont know if i should wait longer but i gave about 2-3 hours and it didnt do anything. PLEASE HELP THIS IS THE ONLY SITE I CAN FIND FOR MY IPOD TOUCH 4G 5.0.1 SOFTWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got to the jailbreak part of it but once it gets to the cydia issue.. there are no extra's that I see.. and once it's unplugged, the safari won't work.. can someone help me?

Once I went to the Just Boot option, redsnow encountered error (I have already done DFU mode). And now, my Ipod is non responsive, even if I plug it to my itunes, what will I do next? PLEASE HELP!!!

In my case, I backed up everything but only my photos and videos were restored. So better save in your pc before doing this.

When you were jailbreaking it and it gave you a list of options you have to select the option to enable it.

Guys, I jailbraked my ipod 4g last night. It worked fine, but then I noticed gps/location services wont work. So I restored it on my itunes using the backup restore. It still wont work or activate. I tried it again this morning, I did reset all my settings but it still wont work. Help anyone? BTW I will not jailbreak again. EVER

Small problem;jailbreak went great, but now some apps wont work anymore.Safari, mail, and all the jailbreaks apps like cydia app and sbsettings etc.If i tap em, they open and immediately close.its weird, anyone know an answeR?thx.

IT WORKS!!!!IM SOOOOOOO HAPPY i was soooo stressed throught the process trying not to brick the device but when i opened cydia for the first time it made it worth it!!!

Ok so I downloaded the redsnow program when I put it into DFU mode it says something like it doesnt rececognize it and suggest to update I tunes and when I try to update I tunes and it can't do that because something's wrong but what's wrong!!!!!!!!

Do the same thing you to put it into DFU mode and it should turn back on

After redsn0w identifies my ipod and it reboots, the program still says "Waiting for reboot" even though it did already. Im confused...

same for me, i had JB before and update to 5.1 to try it out, tether JB it and didnt like it so i deleted cydia from packages and respring but then i downgraded to 5.0.1 and tried JB and gets half way threw uploading second stage and then says exploit failed.

This worked for me, but I can't get to Cydia or any of the apps installed through Cydia unless I use the search function. Is there any way to get the actual icons to show up?

The jailbreak worked for my iPod 3g. I downloaded some fonts and themes. I made sure it was connected to Redsn0w so it would not get bricked. I used one of my apps and then laid down. I was trying to open Cydia and then the icons that appear because of the themes and things that I installed and it would nor open. How do I change this and is it caused by any particular thing?
