i doubt it is as that was patched along time ago on ios 5 betas, this is somthing new as the dev team released a program so they could see what made the iphone/ipods glitch , once they found a glitch they can work with it, they will put it into jailbreak to glitch the phone (expoliting) then they can apply there coding which allows untether :)

OTA means Over the Air updates and thats when you update ure firmware without connecting it to itunes ....i dont think u can save ure shsh blobs if you arent jailbroken..just sit tight and hope for the best ( I am also waiting)

Hi, maybe I made a mistake.... im still on 4.3.3 jailbroken so I'm not sure if there is a option in iOS 5 which let you disable the OTA. I only heard from friends that it asks you if you want to install the new version. So you should be careful and not install any new version that showes up.... :-)

Limerain is bootrom exploit, can't be patched by iOS 5.x upgrades. It means that older devices (4, 3GS, iPad1 etc) have tethered jaibreak forever. Untether part have to be found, it can be patched by iOS upgrades. Pod2G just found one. So it is important you don't upgrade beyond 5.0.1, for which this untether part is confirmed to work. iPhone 4S and iPad 2 were designed with new bootrom, which prevents limerain. Unless new bootrom exploit is found we will have jailbreak only for specific iOS versions, for which userland jb is found.

That JB might have been device dependent. Meaning each phone would needs its own custom jailbreak.

U can't disable it unless you have an already jailbroken device. You simply don't lick yes when it asks you to update. You'll still have the 1 bubble in your setting indicating an update is available. But that seams to be something you have to live with unless you want to update any probably ruin your chances of having a jailbreakable device.

Hi guys, I'm newbee to iphone. and I would like to ask for help.. I have Iphone FW 4.2.1 BB 2.10.0 how can I update IOS 5.0.1 without update BB. I had searched some blog told me that just use tinyumbrella to wil prevent me to update the BB while the IOS could be update to 5.0.1 is that correct. How do I do that anyway?

Use snowbreeze and make a custom IOS 5.0.1. All you do is download the latest vision of snowbreeze and also download the stock IOS 5.0.1. After you have those two items downloaded, just run snowbreeze and it pretty self explanatory.

It's great that the Dev Team does not experiment with the new devices ( 4S and iPad 2). Now it could teach people to stop buying the new devices with very little upgrade on the software and hardware. I can't imagine paying another 400 dollars for Siri and a new CPU.

you should unlock your phone. unfortunately, you cannot because you upgraded your baseband firmware.
