pod2g: It's Safe For Jailbreakers to Upgrade to iOS 5.1.1
Now that it has been confirmed that the pod2g's untethered jailbreak is almost ready and works with most iOS devices (except Apple TV 3) running iOS 5.1.1, he has tweeted that it is safe for jailbreakers to update their iOS devices to iOS 5.1.1.
But pod2g has warned users who depend on Ultrasn0w to unlock their iPhone should avoid updating to iOS 5.1.1.

Would be funny if pod2g convinced thousands of 5.0.1 users to upgrade to 5.1.1 and decide to not release the jailbreak because Apple gave him 2 million dollar not to. Okay, that probably wouldn't be funny.

I think redsnow will follow in a matter of hours after absinthe 2.0 release. I give max one day delay.

Is the iphone 4s 5.0 baseband even worth saving? or should i just update to 5.1.1. its not like they have found an unlock for it

It's always been the rule of thumb that the lower yr bb, the higher exploitable chance.

U hv to upgrade to 5.1.1. Absinthe 2.0 is written specifically for 5.1.1 to work. Dun forget to backup b4 u upgrade. Ifbu rely on bb unlock, dun use it. Use redsnow when it comes out later.

Do not get your hopes high because they are only delivering a jailbreak and not unlock which means that if your device is not already unlocked with a preserved baseband then you wont be able to unlock because the new tool wont unlock devices.

So on the upcoming redsnow, even a5 devices can preserve bb? Im currently on 1.0.13 ip4s 5.0.1. Untethered. Should i wait for redsnow? I still got my sam activation tickets.
