if we used the previous limera1n do we need to restore before using the new one or can we just do the jailbreaking process.
also i have had some problems with opening things such as bite sms and boss prefs just two example. when i open them they crash almost rite away.

No you dont need to.
It might not fix the crashing issue with bitesms, it looks like bitesms 5 which is currently in beta is compatible with iOS 4.1. -

No it won't, we are not aware of any FaceTime settings but you can always enter the APN and MMS settings manually based on your carrier (google it) assuming its editable (Launch Settings app -> General -> Network -> Cellular Data Network)

Hashim previously found a baseband crash in iOS 4.0 that was instrumental in bringing the unlock for devices on that firmware.
Veeence suggests that the unlock won't be released till iOS 4.2; however, it will still support iOS 4.1.
@veeence: A new exploitable baseband crash has been found. An unlock will very likely be released after iOS 4.2 and will unlock both BB's of 4.1 & 4.2

If I have an iPhone 4 running 4.0.1 that is already jailbroken (via JailbreakMe) do I first upgrade to 4.1 and then jailbreak again? And if so, will all my jailbreak apps (Shrink, Infinidock, etc) already be there how they were when I re-jailbreak? Any insight would be much appreciated!

I have not upgraded to ios 4.1 yet. I am waiting for Limera1n for Mac or the new pwnagetool before I upgrade. Is this wise? Apple is apparently going to be releasing ios 4.1.1 or something. Wondering if I need to upgrade to 4.1 to have SHSH blobs on file for 4.1. Any help would be much appreciated.
