I can report that this works. The trick is to just hold down the home button in the last phase of the install until you see the Greenp0ison skull. Then you can release.One minor issue, Loader returns an error that "You must be connected to the internet." WiFi on the iPhone 4 (4.2.1) is working fine, I'm going to assume that it's because everyone's hammering the GP servers (???)

Continue holding down the home button even after the screen turns white...I had to do the same thing

Thank you So much chronic dev team and thank you iphone hacks also, for your 3rd update about redsn0w it helped so muchP.s. the version on the greenpois0n site did not work for me, i tried 7 times and nothing, but the mirror link did first time i recommend that. also i had to use redsn0w newest version to get cydia as it was not showing on the launcher :D

cydia app is hidden! how do I get it to show up along with the rest of cydia apps on the home screen.. I can only find through spotlight

actually i take that back, it is possible but you need to preserve the baseband. if the baseband gets updated, you'll be stuck and unable to unlock.

you can create a partition and install mac on it.. thats what i did ....

Ha me either! Engadget said it was rushed.. I think I will stick with my tethered Jailbreak for another 2 weeks for the bugs to get fixed... that is, if there are any. I've only had to tether boot my phone 2 times since I jailbroke it a month ago... it's really not that bad.

So I followed the directions above, did jailbreak with GreenPoison (Link found for **** site on AppAdvice, obviously because GreenPoison site is down). Went through with GreenPoison had trouble with the loader application so I used Redsn0w 0.9.7b6 to install cydia only. Worked flawlessly, now I have untethered jailbreak thanks to GreenPoison and cydia thanks to Redsn0w.

KEEP YOUR FINGER ON THE HOME BUTTON WHILE DFU'ing. 100% Works!As far as loader>cydia issue goes, i kept opening loader even eventually cydia showed up, just took about 15 minutes to install 100%.by the way, after installing a few apps, tethering 3g, qtweeter etc, my phone kept respringing at the home screen and i couldnt do anything. so I restored to 4.2.1 and im jailbreaking again.
