Bigger screen = either changing resolution, or less pixels per inch, which wouldn't have been retina. Of course a noob like you wouldn't know that.

Nothing compelling here, slightly better specs, but definitely not worth the costly upgrade from an iphone 4. The option of a bigger 4' screen would've sold me. Typical Apple strategy, nickle and dime for small incremental features over phone cycles. Guessing they'll release a bigger screen sometime in the future, until then I'll stick to my iphone 4.

Very disappointed....like many have said, most of these features have been on competitors phones for a while. Siri will be a fad that will be used shortly then forgotten about.

Although I agree tht apple should have given us a new design, the main thing 4 me is what's on the inside. I bet atleast 90% of those slagging it off will still buy it.

People say I want bigger screen well will you ever be happy with a bigger screen maybe just carry a 60 inch tv around the streets as a phone, what a clown it is a phone not a tv buy an iPad if ya want a bigger screen, yes other android phones have bigger screen but have no battery life and no resolution, it is the guts of the phone that makes it perform not the looks. I like some other phone makers but I love apple products they are made to last and are of higher quality than other makers. Evry android phone I have had was like PAC MAN just kept eating batteries and also felt cheaply made. I can see the future of Siri being the way we use everything cause the human race is becoming lazier, next we will be talking to the tv, tv clown make my coffe, tv says lick my nuts.... We already talk to our cars and gps navigation so it makes sense talk to the phone and soon everything. Siri is not a fad yu will see jigger will be in everything in one way or another, samsung will release a tv with voice recognition soon enough.

To be honest, I'm a little disappointed that it's not a new design but the internal upgrade is welcomed. The siri voice assistant feature isn't a big deal to me though. I'll have to wait and see how well it actually works before I judge it.

Another year to wait i guess... After 3GS, i feel in love with my android running on Mytouch 4G and boy i love the phone. I use the iPhone when travel outside the country though since i do that more often. Mytouch 4G already have the Siri type app which is very interesting but can't really remember how many times i use it. Its like voice dial and all, how many people actually use it. People will be all over it in a week or two and it will completely die out. I was really hoping for a different design to add to my apple collection. What a disappointment, though i just won a $1000 bet about apple not releasing an iPhone 5 but a 4S. Sweet.

Didn't want a redesign but did want a larger screen & 4g capabilities so I wouldnt need to replace next year. 1080p is nice & while Siri sounds good with dragon dictation & Google I can get by till next summer. Guess I'll keep checking Cyndia for Siri

I'm assuming the pricing listed above is with a nice new 2-year contract?I wonder with those of us still grandfathered in on the unlimited plan can purchase the phone at full price and keep unlimited data .. although throttled after 2gb still kinda sucks .. but I could live with that especially if the throttled speeds mean what we are used to now..

Not really!!!!!! Fail. Yeah they'll make money, but they could've potentially made more. Its just not compelling enough. Give the people what they want already. If you build it they will come.

Yep bummer, i need a replacement tho, still have 3g and its on its last leg, i just dont know if getting iphone4s is worth it versus just getting a iphone 4..... damit apple ur forceing mw to say this! All this freaking extra time for release and its just a freaking 4s!? Personnally i dont give a damn about "world" phone screw verizon!, (altho i fully agree verizons service is top dawg) and screw this stupid app called siri, yea its going to get hacked, and i hope it gets crumbled to point of abandoning it. Reminds me of the time I wanted to upgrade from the 2003 Honda CR-V to the 2004 model, only to find out the only change made was the addition of a flip down sunglasses holder on the ceiling. For those that don't get the analogy, swap iphone for Honda CR-V and sunglasses for Siri wannabe insignificant feature and it becomes clear. lol By the way I rarely wear sunglasses.

For a non-contract iphon 4s is going to be around $675-700 for 16GB, $745-825 for 32GB, maybe $900-1200 range for the 64GB. Its hard to estimate the price for the 64GB because its never been done before for iphone but the rest of it is pretty standard for past iphone price when it came out. These are non-contract prices. You could sometime get it cheaper in ebay but you risk buying use or damaged iphones. The first three months the ebay price for these non-contract iphone is really high and crazy because you can't get it anywhere else and the people from other countries jack up the prices because they are not able to get it in their country.

If you are with AT&T, you can multitask like most of the world outside the our country (USA). If you are Verizon or Sprint, you cannot... as you are stuck with ancient technology (CDMA)

At some point Apples gonna learn to quit playing games with us. They've let their success go to their head. They honestly feel that whatever they release, we are Apple Zombies and will buy it. No ones dumb. They claim to 'innovate' while doing incremental fixes to their products and think we don't notice it. IPad 1, no camera! IPad 2, LOOk a camera...shh It's only1 megapixel! IPad 3,look 4 megapixels..all when they could have just put the 4 megapixel in IPad 1. This stupid 'S' series they have come out with twice now should be released 6 months maybe after Iphone 4 as upgrade. We waited 16 months for IPhone 4.5? And you want us to sign a new 2 year contract? Seriously Apple? And you try to convince us that we want and NEED this just so I can talk to it? I can talk to my damn self,no thanks Apple! Not this time!

This phone is lame, never made big changes beside the camera, no 4g still or a bigger screen,. Apple are good by adding only one or two things but never make complete feature. But we have to many dumb people in this country, who will wait in line to purchase the shitty phone.... So the when the come out with the next phone, it will have a bigger screen but no 4g..it's a trend that apple have been using since they have launched.. You decide after ur evaluation..Please don't support on a disaster gadget.. And don't be one of the people who is ready to buy

Highly dissapointed. I was expecting Siri to work on all iOS devices. Other than that, needless to say, I wasted an hour and a half of my precious time to watch the keynote and be very dissapointed. I am only excited for iOS 5 and iCloud as of right now. Major dissapointement Apple...

To all the ppl crying over here: Do u guys have a signed agreement that u have to buy the next generation iPhone? No one is forcing u to buy the iPhone 4S. If u don't like it don't buy it. U can happily switch to the crappy Androids that feel like plastic toys and drain their battery 3X faster than the iPhone and then the battery dies within 6 months of purchase.

iPhone 4s is a big upgrade!! no bigger screen? well... i rather keep the retina display great looking! buying any Android phone like i did once, and you will be really pissed off when your battery start draining like hell doing any task, if you play a game, forget it!! if you want bigger screen, get an iPad!I dont think i will get the 4s, however, i will recommend it to people who does not have an iPhone yet!iPhone 5 will be a beast coming with the iPad 3 at the same time! hopefully!

Resolution change would not be hard! Keep the pixels per square inch and make it bigger with iPhone 4S specific firmware to make it work!

We all have our wish lists... all that anticipation & then this. Why does Apple INSIST on being behind ALL the time. 4g is cutting edge. forget their cutesy attempt at justifying leaving it out. we all know the next phone will have the capability.All the newest phones, RIGHT NOW, do have have it.......Just once, cutting edge would be GREAT!
