iPhone 4 – I currently have 4.1 (8B117) modem firware 01.59.00 and is already jailbroken. I have been considering the great idea to upgrade to iOS 5, however, I have windows and would like to have it upgraded without maybe updating the baseband?. I already did a backup of my Cydia apps.Can anyone give me an advise about this?

I followed directions 10 times, and i cannot get the white cydia to change on my 3gs, any ideas ? Thanks

It didn't work for me UNTILL I USED A USB 2.0 PORT instead of my laptop's 3.0 one. So, if you've tried it all without success, try this one too!

**** you, ManDEEP, you deep throat!!! he is right. the guys skipped a lot of steps. when doing a "favor" as you mentioned, either do it right or DONT. wring steps can **** up your iphone and you will end up having a fucked up iphone as much you are fucked up!!

3GS on 4.1. updated to 5.1 via tethered redsnow after using itunes to update to customized IPSW (done by redsnow) and then jailbreak and cydia install via redsnow. Took a while but was ok. Unlock was done by ultrasnow and ultrasnow fixer.Problem came when using 'just boot' option that restarted the phone but the phone gave a 'no service' and cydia would not work. Advise: When using the 'just boot' option in redsnow remember to manually specify the stock 5.1 IPSW and then use the just boot option. Secondly, restart your computer before using the just boot option. Lastly, when you see the pineapple it means its working otherwise it ain't.

I have jailbroken without problems. Have installed Cydia no problem. Only when I try to "Just boot tethered" do I get the "USB communication error". Tried all USB ports - don't have another computer handy. Win7. Latest version of everything (including drivers!)Any solutions yet?
