Dev Team Makes It Faster To Jailbreak iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch With Redsn0w 0.9.9 Beta 7 For iOS 5
iPhone Dev team has released a new version of Redsn0w for iOS 5 - Redsn0w 0.9.9b7, which includes performance improvements to make it a lot quicker to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running iOS 5.
However, Dev team has explained that though the jailbreaking process will be a lot faster with the new version of Redsn0w, the time saved will be taken up when you launch Cydia for the first time after jailbreaking your iOS device:

what happen to the 4s jailbreak
-
**** the 4s what happend to untethered yo!?
-
I think we all care more about an untethered jailbreak than this.
-
Most deff. If the jailbreak on IOS 5 was untetheted it wouldent matter to me if it took an hour+ to jailbreak my iPhone.
-
How about for ipad2 users?
-
Seriously. We were all td before ios5 was even out that the devteam already had untethered exploits where the hell are they and why arent we getting any information about it. Its getting ridiculous who really wants to tether jb their devices. Srsly.
-
I see new tweaks and apps on cydia every couple minutes for ios5 but wtf good are they if we loose our jb everytime the phone is restarted or say if it crashes and has to reboot than were screwed till we get near a computer again. Not everyone has access to a computer at all times of the day. Normal people work jobs and leave the house to live their lives.
-
exactly!!!!!!
-
Maybe you should come up with an untethered jailbreak if you want it so badly.
-
Agreed.
-
Thats not the point im getting at. If one wasent spoken about i wouldent worry about it but everywhere youbread it speaks about how they have it covered and 'its comming soon' they get the whole jb community hyped for it than keep everyone hanging, if i had to i would research and try an make one myself
-
Your sense of entitlement is disgusting. Dev Team owes you nothing.
-
Just bullshit
-
Theres no entitlement i feel here. I donate a fair amount to these causes to try an give a bit to help the projects. What have you done?Stop trying to be ' that guy' who wants to try an act like your a somebody and suck the project makers dicks. " oh my gawd you make me sick [ insert **** sucking statement here ] blah blah blah " None of my comments hint to anything involving intitlement im speaking on information given and wgat has been spoken about with this. Give it a rest thats what commenting is for, speaking your mind and asking questions.

It's all good though, when it is released we know an untethered jailbreak will be fast though . I can't wait!I'm still running on IOS 4.0 from the day the iPhone 4 was released! Lol.
-
Well speed not that important as people dont jailbreak that often.
-
You don't lose the jailbreak dumbass. It just won't boot up. And how often do we turn our phones off anyway?
-
I know that jackass. You reboot your phine than what do you have to do? reconnect to the computer to get the jailbreak working again its what i was sayin and either way weather it fully removed it or not once you reboot its still unuseable.....like i said. And anythibg could cause the phobe to restart a crash a cydia update or download, battery dying, and a bunch more.

probably they wait till apple ships out 2nd bach of iPhone 4s to another 28 countries, so more ppl has new jailbreakable 4s on hand. it they release now, by time 4s reaches those countries, it would probably be a patched with iOS 5.0+
-
i mean 22 countries.
-
Thats actually a pretty nice theory i wascactually thinking something simillar. My thought was sinse im hearing theres quite a few bugs with ios5 the dev team was waiting for the next uodate ( 5.0.1) to work out some bugs before they release a 5.0 untethered just to have apple patch their exploit. Im sure Apple will have a 5.0.1 update pretty soon. I havent tried ios5 yet but i have been hearing of a few mistakrs and bugs such as the 3g toggle missing, problems using ios5 on ipad 1 and a few more.
-
i have a iphone 4 from sprint (first time with a iphone) and tried redsnow and did exatly what was posted and i couldnt get it to jailbreak. it stoped at the waiting for reboot. i had to disconect after five min and get it to power back on. any ideas????
-
Is it a iPhone 4 or 4s?
-
Try to re jailbreak using a different port also load iTunes in background I had this issue Jason try what I said it will work! Sound like phone is not going into DFU mode 100% hope this helps mate :)
-
No jailbreak on 4s yet as everyone who reads should know soon as its available this site will update with new story or iphonehacks.com both decent sites for upto date iPhone news!
-
If it's a 4s you can't jailbreak it currently. If it's a iPhone 4 i don't see why you should have any problem jailbreaking it. Remember its a tethered jailbreak so w/e you reboot the phone you need to tether it to you're computer using redsn0w to use the jailbreak again till theres an untethered jb released. If you just follow the directions you should have no problem. I can't remeber if i was reading earlier that the process in Redsn0w that has you put the iPhone into DFU mode was a bit off, if it is that may be the problem you're having.
-
I can't connect to wifi now after updating to 5.0
-
i think dev teams are right to hold off releasing an untethered jailbreak. personally i'm not very impressed with apple. how many betas? and your final offering is still buggy. seriously?pull your fingers out of your arses and stop f'ing your customers around. granted it was a major update but i'd prefer quality to quantity. you should have weeded out all but the most obscure of bugs considering the amount of betas released and the feedback they would have generated.
-
We are really not that interested in faster. We just want untethered!
-
Thanks I'll try that later. Or should I wait for a tethered jailbreak???
