Checked my update in my iPad 1st and it isn't there. What gives?
-
Nevermind. But why no OTA? I thought that was the point of iOS 5?
-
I am performing update right now using only software update directly on my phone without connecting it to iTunes.
-
Yea my friend did his via OTA but mine will not work that way for some reason.
-
Hi RyanI have successfully performed update without using iTunes. Everything done on the phone.
-
It seems that OTA update for 5.0.1 is now appearing in some countries, however I have a question...Does anybody know if OTA updates are safe for Jailbreak users? It would be the first time I would attempt an OTA update so I wouldn't like to loose my jb.
-
"obviously" is Not safe for JB... MuscleNerd just said it...!
-
The 2 words "update" and "jailbreak" are never safe together. EVER!!
-
Well, lets see OTA is going good so far .................................WOW it worked
-
Cool thanks. I did not know that the update would be out today:D Thanks for the heads up.
-
antone have any idea why i cant jailbreak my iphone 4 from sprint iv tried a bunch of times and it get stuck at the waiting for reboot and it dont do anything. im new to the iphone and jailbreaking. thanks for what ever help you can give.
-
I did the 5.0.1 OTA (Only took 10 minute to complete the instal, and was pretty fast). All went well.
-
Please Read more about Jailbreak, For iPhone4 iOS5 there is JB but is Tether...!
-
I tried the OTA update, and it says "Unable to Check for Update" I'm NOT jailbroken as of now and I've tried rebooting as such, but nothing?
-
any news about Push mail ? or still doesn't work
-
Muscle nerd also tweeted that just backing up your shsh blobs in not enough to downgrade in ios 5.0
-
Holly sh!t..!
-
it works , i tried it out and it works
-
Since iOS5 jailbreak is tether right now you have to use redsnow to boot it up after you jailbreak. Also you can't reboot iPhone or else it won't until you use redsnow to boot it up again. Unless of course you download & install semitether from cydia and that only works if you don't have a jailbreak app that runs in the background i.e. sbsettings
-
thanks. yes, works fine.
-
The download took 2 minutes on wifi. Update went smoothly. I can't tell my battery is draining any slower though, since I didn't have a problem before. I noticed scrolling through the menus and app store seems to be smoother/quicker though.
-
If your iPhone is from Sprint, it is a 4S and there is no available jailbreak for it.

-
Downloading OTA, I wish battery issue on my iPhone 4 now gets resolved!!
-
DID UPDATE- GETTING WORSE BATTERY
-
Did the update now, will see if it fixes the iPhone 4 battery issue!!!!!
-
Did the OTA. The 3gs is running smoother now than before. Less choppiness which is what I was first experiencing with iOS 5.
-
Can I upgrade from 4.3.1 to IOS5 (not5.0.1) ???
-
You can get an 8gb iPhone 4 on Sprint. It's the lowest end iPhone you can get on Sprint.
