Does it have an option saying something like: not upgrading the baseband?
I would like to use 2.0.1 but want to preserve the "unlockable" 2.0 baseband
-
Worked Flawlessly!
(iPhone 2g already running 2.0.1) -
after jailbreaking it, can you restore back up?
-
yes you restore from backup and it still takes forever to do.
-
ok dose it unlock the iphone 3g ?????
-
Should store bought apps still work after this?
I pwn'd my 2.0.1 phone last night and it broke anything I bought from the store.
Not that I care that much, I just would like everything to work.
-
Will let you know about the store bought apps. In the painstakingly slow restore process atm...

This does not unlock iPhone 3G, iPhone Dev Team are still working on unlocking iPhone 3G.
Based on information available, the official iPhone apps should ideally work, you might need to install them again I guess.
Thanks Blaine do let us know.
cheers!

noodles, if you delete the apps from the iphone and let itunes re-install them they should work.. :)

Hi, i have an iphone 3G, brand new, but it is locked. Is there anyway i can unlock it?

-
Worked for me (first gen iphone). Lost everything so make backups =)

I get error (1) as soon as the restore starts. Any idea what would be causing this?
Thanks

I'm getting a crash just at the end of building the IPSW, it extracts, and does everything really nice, but then at the end, it crashes... Hope I can figure it out.

Hello, I have a 1st generation Iphone updated with winpwn to 2.0, as I have read in the blogs, 2.0.1 works better but I am concerned abot the apps that I bought in the appstore, will they still work? does this 2.0.1 update comes with installer? Would you recomend me updating to 2.0.1?
Thanks!! -
I tried to jailbreak my 3G which worked but no in/out going calls are possible dev team to the rescue
-
I tried, but it not work for me. When I tried to install it into iphone, it crashs
-
you have to download the new firmware from itunes then find it in the itunes folder in c:/ programs then you pwned that firmware. MAKE SURE YOU UNCHECK ACTIVATE for 3G
-
I have tried this, but after creating the custom firmware the pwnage tool does not recognize it as firmware rather unknown file. Please help me building the correct custom firmware.

I have a 2G iphone which I bought from the states (hence would have been locked to AT&T) does this tool allow other carrier sims to work or does it just allow you install 3rd party apps?
Thanks

> Restore your phone back to the standard iPSW
Here is the fix for anyone having the problem with no incomming or outgoing calls. it worked for me> Create your custom pwned iPSW, do NOT select "activate phone" or "Youtube fix" - only select "Install Cydia"
> Take out your SIM card (this is important)
> Put the phone into DFU mode
> pwn as normal
> once pwned, unplug iPhone, insert your SIM and plug in again.
> activate through iTunes as a new phone (also important) -
still having the error (1) problem almost immediately after hitting restore
On old 1.1.3, apparentely it meant the phone hadn't been put into DFU mode properly. But mine is as far as I can tell, blank screen, iTunes picks up phone in recovery mode.
Any help please. -
well it worked fine for me. Here goes my config so you can check :
iPhone 3g with official 2.0.1 fw
iTunes 7.7.1
Windows xp sp2
Cydia installed
Installer installed
Any other winpwn option (logos, phone actvation, yt fix) NOT CHECKEDRight now Installer is not useful, and it's quite buggy
Good luck pwning,guys!

Hey, I did this last night. I backed up my phone before using WINPWN to jailbreak my 3g iPhone and wasn't able to restore it from the backup. Kind of sucked because I lost a bunch of text messages. Would anyone be able to explain how I can get it to restore from that back up now? The contacts are still there because of MobileMe, but I would still like to get it to that back up if anything. thanks in advance. Oh, btw Installer looks awesome. can't wait for the apps to load in it though =P
