Apple Releases Revised iOS 5.1.1 (Build 9B208) For GSM iPhone 4 [Updated]
This is interesting. As pointed out by 9to5Mac, Apple has quietly released a revised version of iOS 5.1.1.
The build number of the revision iOS 5.1.1 is 9B208, where as the build number of iOS 5.1.1 released last week was 9B206.
The revision iOS 5.1.1 is currently available only for GSM iPhone 4.
Apple hasn't provided any details, but based on the build number change, it does suggest that it could include some minor bug fixes.

I restored my iphone 4 because my cydia kept crashing.. Now be cause of Apple released a new Update... absinthe Doesnt work.. please Helppp Pod2g

well i updated without knowing about this and i am unable to jailbreak with absinthe. it says its doesn't support this device. i restored to a previous backup and everything but nothing seems to be working

Yeah, didn't realize they had made an update to iOS 5.1.1 and restored SPECIFICALLY for the jailbreak. Looks like that backfired on me :\

those crafty bastards, but if you did manage to jb on 5.1.1 cydia will have saved the ssh blobs on it, so if they release a downgradeing tool you could use it i guess

just download the link posted for the old restore ipsw. go to itunes hold shift, select file downloaded and it will restore that instead of the new update. it should be the 9b206 file you are using instead of the one downloaded directly from itunes. absinthe should be able to jailbreak then.

also do it asap, because apple is letting you still revert to this update. otherwise, theyll stop letting you use the old ipsw file.

Yes it's true if you update from icloud you might not have it saved... go here http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750 select "5.1.1 (4 GSM): iPhone3,1_5.1.1_9B206_Restore.ipsw" the 4th from last. You still have a chance of making it work just like I just did.....

I hold down shift and hit up date but it's not doing anything except tell me it's about to update 5.1.1. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, confirmed. The old .ipsw still works. Hold shift on Windows or Alt on Mac and hit the restore button, then choose the old .ipsw. Thanks very much for the tip!

You'll want to download the old .ipsw from some external site, then (once its downloaded) open up iTunes, click on your phone, hold shift(or alt) and hit "restore", not update.

just realized it's not shift it's Option that should be held down. Now the problem is that the firmware in the link above is not compatible. Know where I could find that link for the 4s?

I didn't know this yesterday so I upgraded my iphone4 to the new ipsw which Absinthe jailbreak kept failing! Took me few hours to tried restore, reset and also tried restore 5.1.1 by shift + but received an error code 1600, at last I tenthered jailbreak it and installed rocky racoon on cydia turned it to untethered , it worked!

just download the firmware for iphone 4 5.1.1 make sure it reads 9b206 not 9b208.... once downloaded it go on itunes n hold SHIFT and Find 9b206 and restore it...i just did it few mins ago..

I'm pretty sure if you use redsn0w (latest version) to jailbreak and then go into Cydia and manually install Rocky Racoon it should work. I haven't tried it personally, but I don't see why it shouldn't (that is, unless Apple has patched the untethered exploit...which I highly doubt).

well just updated to 5.11 through itunes and i actually got 5.1.1 9B206 so maybe the 9b208 is only in certain areas i dont know how but i got lucky

Just hold shift when u click restore with the iphone selected on the side bar, then select the old ipsw from the window that pops up

I'm in the same boat. I had a problem installing Spite after the elegant Absinthe 5.1.1 9B206 jailbreak. I had to restore and got stuck with build 9B208. Now no jailbreaks work.

It is for this very reason I download and place every IPSW & SHSH blobs for that iOS into a zip folder.

How do I backup SHSH blobs?I'm new to iOS and JB my iPad 3 last night. I have archived the ispw file but not sure how to locate/backup the SHSH blobs? (Windows). Should I have done this prior to JB or is it still possible/viable afterwards?Thanks.
