Ok So I jailbroke my 3.1 3gs.. and everything was cool .. until i installed **** and then i tried istalling a app then all my apps disapeared and i cant sync them back on my phone?? can you help?

i've got 3gs originally jailbroken 3.0.1. Unknowingly upgraded to 3.1. It seems, the above procedure doesn't work with iphones 3Gs 3.1 installed. is waiting for apple dev team the only solutions or is there any alternative. someone pls. help. you can email me on: shamsarabia(at)gmail(dot)com

After updating from 3.0 to 3.1 using these instructions, I get a message "an update to your carrier setting is available. Would you like to install it now?" I am NOT planning to unlock the phone and have a contract with ATT here in the U.S. Should I install the update and does it impact the jailbreak?

does this jailbreak mean the iPhone 2g can work with the Virgin network in the UK? as when I look in the carrier menus Virgin or 3 aren't listed? could someone please advise? thanks.

I believe just like mbhullar said "The reason you are getting the error is because you upgraded to 3.1. The current jailbreak method ONLY works for users who are on 3.0 or 3.01 3GS and jailbroken. Even though you had iphone 3gs unlock and JB before it won't work.

Hello, I have a quick question for you guys - any help would be greatly appreciated. Is it confirmed that 3.1 firmware will break the tethering hack? Are there any other solutions to get tethering? I've noticed a few apps cydia that claim to offer tethering? Thanks in advance for any replies, Lee.

Okay, I get everything perfectly, but on the last step I get confused. If I restore it as a backup, won't that mean it won't be jailbroken?

I've got a question if I do it in EXPERT mode after restore I don't have signal it says NO SERVICE ( but itunes are fine and iphone is activated.
I tried to do it in Simple Mode ... and everything works fine and I have signal, but I have the stupid pineapple logo.
... what am I doing wrong in expert mode.

You're out of luck if you're already on 3.1
You shouldn't have updated to 3.1
You'll have to wait for Dev Team to come out with a 3.1 Jailbreak.
The only exception is if you have your SHSH file stored with Cydia(before you upgraded to 3.1) With the SHSH you should be able to restore to 3.0, then JB to 3.1 -
HEYYYYY !!! eveyone and some one completely forgot to mention that one CANNONT downgrade back to the firmare 3.0 once you have updated to 3.1 !! that sucks !! y was that not mentioned in the writeup !!

I'm sure I'm still on 3.0.1 and the iphone goes ino restore mode ok (itunes detects an iphone in restore mode) but then I get the error 1604.. -
Small problem, the jailbreak worked extremely well, but I have no cell service. Can you supply me with a fix. I kinda need to make calls( or else it's just a brick.)

so if i am using AT&T and want to use the custom firmware uploaded to the site mentioned above do i want the one that states WITHOUT ACTIVATION or do i want the one that is just normal and doesnt state that...because i used the normal one and i have no carrier....and its not just cosmetic...i cant make calls ...but i used ultrasn0w to unlock it and now can make calls...however im just curious if i used the wrong custom file...

I accidentally left "activate iphone" checked and I use ATT. The jailbreak worked but my phone is not activated. How can I now activate on ATT? My backup was replaced once itunes resynced! Help PLEASE!

Doug if you use Ultrasn0w to unlock it you will find yourself with a temporary fix...you'll have service....

Hi, my iPhone 3GS came with OS 3.0.1 installed. B/c the phone is new, I don't ECID SHSH on file in Cydia. Can I just PwnageTool 3.1.3 without have a ECID on file? Thanks!

You need a jailbroken iPhone 3GS for Pwnagetool 3.1.3 to work.
