Will this work with 3.1.2 firmware or only 3.1?
Thank you, I plan on using this tool to get to 3.1.2 then use blackra1n. The reason I would like to try this is to preserve the base-band, because blackra1n doesn't preserve it.

10 easy steps to get your ipod/iphone 2 or 3 jailbroken
blackra1n works for ipods
1.download blackra1n from : http://blackra1n.com
and choose either mac or windows
2.connect ipod/iphone
3.open as administrator
4.run
5.click "make it rain"
6.wait for the blackra1n logo and wait for it to
automatically reboot
7.scroll through your apps and find blackra1n
8.open it
9.download the two top apps
10.wait for then to upload
11.your all done. just open them and use them
