i installed ios4 with no problems but when i tried to send a mms, it doesn't show the little camera in mms. i checked messages in settings and it doesn't show mms messaging or show subject field. any help?

Wasn't there supposed to be a custom dictionary? I'm not seeing one. I was hoping to add some words and finally be able to type hell without it becoming he'll. Anyone know if this is a feature we can access?

My messages options has a toggle for "Group messages" which is something I don't see on the screenshot here. I don't know what it does.

did you update to the latest carrier settings? try to unplug your phone and plug it back in and check itunes for updated carrier settings.

Also, I'm still on the $30 unlimited plan yet tethering is listed on my phone as an option. I haven't messed with turning it on and will probably never use it. It doesn't look like there is anything in place to keep my from using it though. I assumed it wouldn't even be listed like before unless I had access to it.

Trying to download for 3G but it gets to around 100MB then gives me error code -3253 its done it 4 times now if it doesnt work this time ill try in the morning-anyone else having this problem?????

I just upgraded my iphone 3GS - and am currently playing.... Something you dont mention above is if you lock the screen while the ipod is playing, IOS 4 will display the album art of the playing track. Double click the home button, and it shows more info on the track. This is new - v3 would only show the album art if the ipod was playing in the foreground... :-) ... I LOVE the new features - it like having a new phone!

where is the camera zoom? i don't see it. do i have to enable it to work? i have a 3gs

This feature is strangely only available to iPhone 3GS and new iPhone 4 users.

Updated my girlfriends 3G and I don't see that feature either. Multitasking is the biggest thing to her...I think you can jailbreak to get the other features.

try downloading it from here: http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750 this lists all the iPhone OS's even the new 4.0 one. which you can directly download from Apple, i'm getting 428 kb/s

I have an iphone 3GS 3.1.3 that i jailbroke with Spirit back when Spirit was first released, would i be able to update to the new IOS4? or would that be a bad idea

For those of you with a jailbroken 3GS wondering... You can install 4.0 without any trouble. Here are the steps I took to make sure it went smooth. BE AWARE that you will lose your jailbreak. I'm sure 99% of you realize this but there is always that one person who doesn't pay attention.
Anyway, first make a backup. The easiest way to make sure that you have one is to right click your phone in the list in iTunes and choose Backup.
I then chose Restore. Since I was still on 3.1.2 it made me install 3.1.3 first which was fine. At the end it lets you restore the backup you made. If you are already on 3.1.3 just restore your phone using 3.1.3 and restore your backup.
Your phone is now no longer jailbroken and running 3.1.3. From here you can just download and install 4.0 as usual. Remember, this is for those who no longer care about being jailbroken.

Sorry Robert but that is not new, it came with 3.1.2. I just checked it on my iphone 3gs 3.1.2 and it does that same.

Okay, Doing some experiment with my iphone 3G 16. I installed the new iOS4 from itunes and J/B it using redsn0w 0.9.5b4-2 by selecting iPhone1,2_4.0_8A274b_Restore.ipsw, one of the beta versions.
Jailbreak went smooth but Cydia had the blank icon, opened Cydia and added apt.saurik.com/cydia-3.7 and got the Cydia icon, now i'm jailbroken and unlocked with the new Ultrasn0w by adding the new repo.

I lost the multitasking, and the background wall paper after jailbreaking the new iOS4 though i had it in the iOS4 GM but at least everything else works.
