I have a 3GS with 3.1.3 jailbroken with spirit, am wondering can i click on "Update" to iOS4 or i need to do a "restore" first??

Text sounds??? Are we able to change those in IOS4? I hate when a text sound plays and 3 out of the 4 of you standing in a group reaches for their Iphone only to discover it wasn't their text it was someone else just walking by. That is my main reason for JB'ing my phone.

Does the new iOS allow you to rotate your sprigboard into landscape mode? I heard that was one of the features that was gonan be in the new iOs, but I havent seen anyhting about it since its release... thanx for any info on this....

Thanks for your replay but what you are saying is it has not changed then as you currently have 6 choices with vibrate. I am disappointed with that "LACK" of feature. I will remained JB'd then.

I had the same exact problem. I figured it had something to do with something hacked I had in the backup. So I restored the reverted to an older back up... Works perfect now but I lost a months worth of info. Sucks but at least it works now. Good luck!

i am experiencing problems when syncing my iphone 3GS iOS 4
I have tried syncing videos and were successful using itunes however i can't see it on the iphone.

It is also available to 3rd gen iPod touch. I have the 32gb and was able to set a home screen wallpaper.

I have synced my iphone 3G. Then downloaded ios 4. It starts the install with the little backup window. Each of the three times I tried it today, it takes 3 hours of time to get a fingernails length of status bar flled in.
I stopped the install every time'cause I think I've done something wrong.

you don't have to do all that. I went from 3.1.2 with jailbreak by just updating. iTunes will than do a back up and install ios 4 along with restoring all your info.

Same problems here, I have 3GS jailbroken, the update goes about 2 3rds through then just hangs ? I restarted it 4 times but no luck, anyone else have the same problem ?

Good to know. I thought about trying that but all of the talk about possibly bricking the phone made me a little more cautious.

After jumping through a few hoops, I have upgraded my 3G iphone to iOS4, unlocked and jailbroken it using both Redsnow and ultrasnOw (via cydia) just to be safe. All working perfectly. One thing I found is that the restore process falls over if you have a SIM PIN, so remove that before upgrading.
Also I notice there is a limit to the number of apps you can have in a folder (12). This sucks when you want (for example) to group all your games and you have more than 12 (like me!). Folders made using Categories in Cydia hold way more than that, so this is very disappointing.. however, it's not the end of the world. Still testing so will feedback any other glitches I notice.

Actually, it may not be the number of apps that's limiting what you can group - but the total size of the apps in the folder.

hi just wanted to know i dont have official carrier sim(at&t)....i have 3gs jb &unlocked 3.1.2. so if i upgrde to ios4 will i get stuck on emergency call screen.n if so is there any solution to this

so for me is not a problem, in a folder I can store up to 12 app ok I've made "game 1" "game 2" ecc
