I jailbroken my 3GS at 312 with blackra1n
then with spirit at 313
Will this work on 4.0 since I used blackra1n first?
Also my shsh is backed up on cydia for 3.1,3.12 and 3.1.3 but my phone is already updated to 4.0 and iTunes 9.2 -

ok that's what i'm not getting. if you're using a fresh ipsw and pwnage tool to pre-jailbreak an ipsw, what does it matter. aren't you just doing a clean format of your iphone system when you install the new ipsw anyways ???

WOW! another guide for old bootrom users this is nothing new? I used to be a daily reader of this site but its just rehashing old topics.
If you are able to use the new jailbreak its a fair assumption that you have already JB your iphone once before and should have some clues?I was unlucky that my old bootrom phone's GPS got fried and now have refurbed phone on new bootrom. so not my fualt that i cant JB please cant we use's our time and resources to help dev team instead of redigesting old topics.

How come no one is mentioning anything about a jb for iphone 4?.. Are they just waiting to surprise us? Lol. I mean its def cool u guys do what u do and are even able to jb ios4 for 3gs and 3g users, but there are a lot of us out there that went ahead and upgraded to the new iphone4 and would like even just a post saying "iphone4 jb coming soon" or somethin... Lol. Am i alone on this??

I have an original 3GS that was updated to 3.0.1 and never updated again. Since this is a phone from the first day of sale in the U.S. I'm assuming that it has the old boot rom. Also the phone has NEVER been jail-broken. I use it for tethering to my computer.
My question is, can I jailbreak my phone, the instructions state that the phone must have been jail-broken before and mine hasn't.
If I do jailbreak my phone and update it to iOS 4 can I still tether it to my computer?
Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated.

I accidentally upgraded my 3gs (old boot) to iOS 4 from 3.1.2 that was pwned/JB. Is there any way to jailbreak it now? i cannot restore back to 3.1.2???Help!!!!!!!!
