HI,

I was able to successfully jailbreak and unlock my iphone 3g using Sn0wbreeze 2.0.2 and ultrasn0w respectively. However, when i tried to restore from backup, in itunes, i keep getting an error. The error is as follow "Itunes could not restore the iphone "name" because a session could not be started with the iphone" can any1 help me with this problem.

iReb works on iPhone 3G 16Gb, OS 4.1. I get to the waiting for custom firmware screen with no issue. Where do I get custom firmware, and how do I use iTunes to install it? Are there instructions anywhere? Thanks for any response you can give.

Sn0wbreeze does not unlock your iPhone, you need to use Ultrasn0w to unlock it.

You can't "acidently" update your firmware to 4.0.2! And NO, ultrasn0w doesn't work on 4.0.2.

hi guys. i have an iphone 3gs and have os 4.1. I bought this phone brand new just a month back so I am guessing it is on the new bootrom. i downloaded snowbreeze 2.0.2 and was able to create custom ipsw file. however when going through restoring on itunes i get error 1604. pls note this device has not been jail broken before. when is a fix expected?

Not sure if the author of the article reads this, but just in case: there's a problem with it. spirit2pwn shouldn't be used on devices that used jailbreakme while on 4.x. Instead jbme2pwn should be used. It comes off of the same repo as spirit2pwn.

Hi there. Here's my specs. seeing the same error 21 in iTunes when I try to restore cooked firmware created with SB 2.0.2 as I saw with 2.0.1. This is while in restore mode or DFU mode.

iPhone 3GS/32gig - JB'd with blackra!n on 3.1.2, still running BB 5.11.07 with old bootrom. Bootloader 6.4. Presently running cooked version of iOS4 created with pwnage. I just kick the phone out of restore with tiny umbrella when it fails and iOS4 boots up normally.

just tried it with 2.0.2 cooked version with iphone plugged in and itunes up, put phone in dfu, tried to restore, itunes popped up 1600 error. had to reset phone and kick out of dfu. back to 4.0 running fine. think i'll skip 4.1. it apparently does not agree with my 3gs. Thx dev group and whoever else tho, i appreciate your efforts.

when i use iReb, my 3gs gets to the "waiting on ibss" and then it just sits there and never completes.

i've also seen in other forums where people are saying "try different cable, different usb port". i've tried all that and i simply cannot get past 1600 and 21 errors. i gave it my best! gl to everybody else!

I just jailbroke my iphone 3g using sn0wbreeze 2.o and IREB and works fine. It was running 4.0.2 jailbroke and unlocked. I was trying first to restore my iphone using only the custom ispw that I got from snowbreeze but I had the error 16xx in itunes, so I used IREB before doing the restore and problem resolved. The only problem was that after the restore, the iphone never got hacktivated so, have in mind that you will need an official sim card to activate the iphone

I got this same problem as well. All the process look go through well but it still searching the network until 'No Services'.

Any Idea how to solve this problem?

I'm Using Iphone 3G and jailbreaken.
I did create the ipsw and using ireb to jailbreak the phone.
Everything look fine in the whole process but it still searching for network although I already install Ultrasnow in it.

Any idea how to solve this ?

3GS old bootrom. jailbroken 4.1 with updated version of Snowbreeze. just remember to install jbme2pwn in cydia.

Upgraded my 3gs to 4.1 with snowbreeze 2.0.2 worked fine except get an itunes error that backup cannot be complete as a session can't be started with the iphone. It's syncing but with untitled playlist.
Any ideas?
