hello.just want to share this with you guys. it might be helpful for those who have an iphone 3gs with new boot rom and are iphone from another country.example:my iphone is from the UK i Have ATT but the iphone can only be activated with a UK Sim Card. what i did was jailbreak it with GreenPois0n after the jailbreak was complete it took me back to connect to itunes screen. step 2 i installed Cydia with Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC8.hope this was some help for those who had an iphone and did not have the sim card from the original carrier. iphone is working great.

What is this Monte option? I only see the install cydia, and it goes into wanting to DFU.

My iphone 4 was jailbroken but i needed to use my laptop everytym to start it up. this fixed it. Thanks alot

If you go to the greenpoison site, make sure you're not downloading the snapshot version, RC4. "This page (http://www.greenpois0n.com/) is currently offline. You can continue to surf CloudFlare's snapshot of the site. We will keep checking in the background and, as soon as the site comes back, you will automatically be served the live version. Alternatively, you can retry the live version."

how do you put everything back after JB? will the normal process of restore from back up work or are you stuck having to reload all music and apps again?

I'm having the same problem. Keeps saying "The application greenpois0n quit unexpectedly." over and over. Tried deleting and re downloading it from different sites and same thing.

Guess my greenpoison did not take right the first time, as when I did the redsn0w it installed tethered, hence my question. After redoing it, all works fine. just normal install with cydia option over the greenpoison == untethered. props

3GS users are lucky, they get the Jailbreak, they get the unlock and the people who buy 4 have to wait, JB community needs to recheck their priorities.

I just finished jailbreaking, I had redsnow tethered version and I just install greenpois0n on top and worked perfectly, not a single error!

It's not Important. You can alway get Mac to jailbreak. Most users of iPhone don't use windows anyway.

Same here, tried different copies, rebooting, etc, always "quits unexpectedly". OS 10.5.8 on a Macbook

So I'm guessing ur not able to install 6.15 baseband from redsnow and then UNTETHER jailbreak it with green poison?

I don't get how u people are getting so many errors, I've done this on 4 iPhone 4's, 3 iPod touch 4g's and one 3GS and they all came out perfectly, I either ran greenpoison over redsnow or just started off fresh with greenpoison first then installed Cydia with redsnowMY only concern now is on the iPad cuz it won't work for me, but I'm sure that'll come later.

Hi AllI had a 3gs, iphone 4 and ipad all running teathered JB on 4.2.1. I just rann GP right over the top of all three and no problems. Didn't load a loader but I guess that is because they were already jailbroken and had Cydia. Ipad 3g only has the apple symbol at start up not the GP logo but everything works fine. Try this if all else fails. I also lost no data. Good luck

what's so good with this news of a 4.2.1 jailbreak if we AT&T locked iphone 4's CANNOT use the damn phone functions?FYI peeps, this v.4.2.1 jailbreak, will only do just that, jailbreak it, but not unlock the iphone. pretty useless for me!

Success here with GP rc5_2 on an iPad. I had to run it as root though. Didn't even need redsn0w to install cydia. See forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1090942 Step 5 you have to run as root. For me everything worked after step 6 :)

Restore from back up. Unlock with ultrasnow. Get ur life right with Jesus:)

I don't know why everybody is using name of Dev Team. Dev Team have nothing to do with this guide or jailbreak. it is Chronic Dev Team, which is totally different from Dev Team, so we should give proper credit to Chronic Dev Team.

Hello. I have locked 3gs running 4.2.1Greenpois0n will not let me unlock the phone so if I jailbreak it by redsn0w and upgrade the baseband to ipad 06.15.00 then I clean-restore the phone and jailbreak it with greenpois0n and run ultrasn0w to unlock it. Will it work?
