Well i grabbed it at like 12:04 central, and it is still going...over halfway done, but still "29 minutes remaining"......been waiting months, whats another half hour i guess.....

In the past I knew that the GM version and the public release had minor differences. As a developer myself, I'd rather be on the public release, but I have no idea how to get it. iTunes keeps saying I'm up-to-date. Anyone know how to get this.

Ok, so I just read that users who have the GM need to do a restore in iTunes with the official release. Apparently the GM is different.For those who have the official release, what is the version? Is it still 9A334? If so, I don't like the idea that the GM and official release share the same version, yet are different...

dfu mode your iphone then connect your usb, itunes will ask to restore & update. Once you hit button pull out the USB.

I have to wait until I get home from work. With my lame slow DSL, it's going to take forever. At least this will be the last tethered update and the last one that the entire OS has to be updated.

How does the direct download work? I get that you download the file to your computer but then how do you get to install on your iPhone?

My download speed was hella slow, I pressed pause, counted to 10, then press resume... It went back to zero, fresh download which is downloading about 5 mb per second :) iOS5!!

Disgusting for a multi-billion $$ greedy company to not have enough servers. Have tried over 10 times and used up well over 4 gb downloading and then starting all over again. Speeds slow down to 100kb/s dial up speeds!!!!! I hate Apple. They only copied notifications from Android that's why I wanted ios 5.0. 100kb/s as I type. My next phone will be an Android. Sick of this.

Ordered mine, 4s 64g, last Friday at 1:18pm est. When I check the site AT&T states "in process" "last updated Oct 9th." I called and was told I should receive the phone this Friday
