I had to Uninstall the FreeSync app. Once I did that, everything worked fine.

Tried to update my ipad, after finishing the software download for ipad version of iOS 5 "The iPad" cannot be restored at this time because the iPad software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.Apple gets a FAIL for today.there servers have probably totally crashed at this point

I was getting the error 3200 for several attempts on the iPad and the iPhone so I changed from one OEM cord to another OEM cord and still nothing, I disabled my anti virus, disabled my windows firewall and ran iTunes as administrator and finally it worked. iPhone is now updating and iPad has already finished.After reveiwing the updatelogs they seem to be hanging while trying to contact apple servers.. they are timing out, the timeout must be set very low..

Have 3194 error while extracting - iPad 2 wi-fi. Any tips? Last iTunes, fully charged.

Okay so I got a new error it is "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3004)." and this happened as it was trying to reboot so it crashed the phone and now it is in recovery mode. I keep getting the same error every time I try to Restore it. :P any ideas? I cant even use it anymore.

Yessss finally worked after a zillion tries. I think it's just the servers that are too busy all the time. Just keep trying and eventually you will succeed!

update on speed: Curiously the ETA remained 2 hours exactly for more than 2 hours, the DL speed just fell and fell. Finally, I was disconnected because I had left my router under a blanket on the sofa, and it was completely melted! I switched it off, cooled it down, switched it off, and it worked! I restarted the download as suggested and now I'm getting 600kb/s upwards... hope to have my phone updated tonight

Turning off my firewall seems to have solved my error 3200.Now i'm waiting for it to restore from a backup, and it says "Time Remaining: About 2 hours". Did it take this long for anyone else?

downloaded iso5 but now its not letting me extract it. any ideas what to do?

This is ridiculus. It's been like 5 hours now. I finally got past 3200 but now i'm getting all different kinds of errors (3014) and my iphone seems to be stuck on the start up apple logo or their little spinning loading icon....

Right, almost 5 hours and many attempts later and ios 5 is installing on my 3gs. Like many people I was getting error 3200, so followed advice on here and other sites and kept trying, after about 10 or so tries it finally worked!

Guys, if you have ever used a custom build for restoring (read: jailbreak), check your hosts file and remove the line with gs.apple... (Search online how to edit the hosts file) then restart and try again!
