You are right I'm with you, but unfortunately my iphone just froze and that's it. I can't do pretty much anything - I can upgrade to 3.1.3 though but I'll rather wait for proper jailbreak.

Well you are right, you can downgrade the firmware but not the baseband, I'm still waiting for a fix like everybody.

Tried that now.. No luck.. maybee my bad pc skills, I really messed up. fucked up the sound, mouse and internet. had to restore all.. so I`ll wait for the program! hehe. hurry up, youre doing a good job!

I totally agree filthyjason! I'm still on 3.0 as well and have no reason to upgrade! ALWAYS ALWAYS wait for the hack!!!! LOL

I am about to give up. I have a iPhone (3.1.3) locked for a European carrier and now I moved to the US and can't use it.
I'll wait one wek then I buy a Nexus One (unlocked from the start!!). -

Hey!! Here's something i've just found out - if any of you are on O2 in the UK and are pining for the un-lock that you lost by going to 3.1.3 - well i've just been on the phone to O2 customer services and found out that since November they have been un-locking iPhones officially in conjunction with Apple/I-tunes..
Its' free if on contract and £15 if on pay n go..
I'm going for it, i want T-mobile back, hey i know it's not a Jailbreak but it's got to be good for lot of you?:)

Well unless i blinked I didn't see any evidence that it's a 3gs, could be a 3g as far as I'm concerned.. correct me if I'm wrong tho I'm hungover viewing it in my iPhone.

So, o2 have mailed me and said my 5.12 3gs will be unlocked within seven days, all I have to do is put a non o2 sim in my phone and plug into iTunes and iTunes will confirm the iPhone is unlocked once o2 tell me to do so via text.
So if my 5.12 is unlocked officially, would it make it easier to run a jb program on it and jailbreak it? Anyone tried that yet???? -
Hmm I'm thinking, my 3gs is MC131B and over six months old, blackra1n jailbroke it easily before it was 3.1.3 upgraded. Is it worth trying any other jailbreak methods other than blackra1n in my case anyone??:)

Can u identify the model firmware of an iPhone by looking at a sealed box in the shop anyone? There is a sticker with some info on, surely that would denote relevant info?

snowbreeze will jailbreak it but not unlock it to use any other sim card. I've done it with snow breeze, you have to crash your iphone and make sure you get the white screen, you hve to use www.iH8sn0w.com - iREB V3.1.2. Put your phone in DFU mode and then run this software, it will cuase your iphone to crash to the white screen, then you close out and go to itunes and install the snowbreeze custom firmware. Thats how it works, you have to get that white screen in order to upload the software, if you dont do that you will always get the errors. Only thing is that there is no unlock, i jailbreaked my phone 3.1.3 but cannot unlock it yet.

I upgraded to 3.1.3 by mistake few weeks ago and it would be great if I could downgrade to 3.1.2.
