I am on old bootroom 3GS 3.1.3 and JB with Spirit. Can I just restore, JB with something beside spirit and then use the new 4.0 to install 4.0?

Someone please answer , can you jailbreak the 3GS 3.1.3 without using snowbreeze so that i can jailbreak 4.0 without problems. I have the old bootrom. thanks

thats the problem lol The unlock works with the os 4.0 baseband 5.13.04, but if your at 0s 4.0 and you don't have any backups you cannot use this method because of the jailbreak prerequisite :(

if you used spirit to jailbreak your phone this jailbreak will not work. If you have a lower version then 3.1.3 downgrade and jailbreak with blackra1n or another jailbreak tool. This method will then work.

Where do I get the Ipsw file, isn't there usually a separate file along with the pawnage tool to download?

I think I got it mike, download 4.0 through iTunes( download only), then open the pawnage tool and it will build an ipsw to restore your phone with

I am using 3GS Version 3.1.2 and firmware 04.26.08 previously JB. So I can just create the ipsw with PwnageTool 4.0 and restore with recovery mode, right? Or do I need to upgrade to 3.1.3 before installing IOS4?
