Tried this earlier on today, didn't work just got errors, 3GS 32GB old boot rom.

I used a the ipsw from a ****, and I have a model MC135LL, with baseband 04.26.08 previously jailbroken, I was able to jailbreak mine and unlock it as well. I tested it with TMobile too. Worked just fine..

i have 3gs with baseband 5.12.o5, old bootrom, 3.1.2 firmware jb with spirit... my question is can i restore again to 3.1.2 as i have shsh saved...and if done so can i jb with anything other than spirit(baseband 5.12.05)n then update to ios4...pls reply

i got thw same problem as Kai. i had to use ultras0w instead. now i dont have internet via 3g or edge. im pretty annoyed.

ya snowbreeze doesnt work, i have the modified firmware and i have a 3g, and itunes still gives me a 1600 error and iReb wont work either, i have a 3g running the upgraded iOS 4.0, anyone help??

So, if you have a stock 3GS old bootrom with new baseband 05.12.01, that is NOT jailbroken, would this be able to create a jailbroken ipsw to upgrade to 4.0? or will it need an already jailbroken phone?
If so, this is a catch-22. How would I JB my existing 3.1.3 / new baseband phone so that I can then use this to create a 4.0 ipsw from (obviously without using Sprint to JB).
Any thoughts?

From what I'm gathering, we have to downgrade it first to 3.1.2, then use Blackra1n to jailbreak it and then we can use Snowbreeze to create the iOS4 custom firmware, but does anyone have a good tutorial on how to downgrade from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2? I've tried the downgrade before, but the problem is that after I have done it, I lose all carriers and it basically becomes an iPod touch.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in Advance!!!

WAIT IF WE RECOVER OUR PHONES TO FACTORY STATE WITHOUT UPDATING BY SELECTING 3.1.3 ISP OR WHAT EVER THE FILES CALL, THEN JAILBREAK THE PHONE WITH ANOTHER TOOL RATHER THAN SPIRIT CAN`T WE UPDATE TO 4.0 ?
I MEAN AS IN LIKE WHEN YOU USE ITUNES TO RECOVER YOUR PHONE IT WIPES ALL SAVED FILES AND APPS AND SUCH SO YOU END UP HAVING TO JAILBREAK AGAIN, SO IF WE HAVE TO JAILBREAK AGAIN WHY NOT JUST USE A TOOL WE CAN USE TO BE ABLE TO JAILBREAK THE PHONE FOR ISO4.0
